You have two different questions here.
Should political fund raising be banned?
Should political candidates get equal air-time in the media?
One question for you, which country are you referring too? The USA, who has an equal-time-rule in place? or is the donating the important part for you? the media should do it for free? dunno

It was actually a two part question if political donations are banned then some form of advertising would have to replace the paid commercials

I dont know where you are getting this equal time rule if so why didnt you see Ron Paul ads all over the tube with the Romney and Obama ads

What I am really disgusted with is SPECIAL INTEREST and super pacs I think the question applies to ALL countries that have elections

This is where I got the idea of equal-time-rule.

Its fairness and efficiency I leave up for discussion, but the rules do exist.
As for why I did not see Ron Paul ads all over the tube with the Romney and Obama ads is quite simple.
One, I do not watch TV; two, highly unlikely Irish TV would broadcast it in the first place.
We have our own set of bunny wabbits in charge here and they are soo much more silly and fun to watch.
Question, why do you see advertising as a necessary part of politics?

Actually I dont but it seems to be the way they get their message out.

I watch c-span a lot but a lot of people dont... they just vote a party line. Take Obama for instance no one even knew him before he ran for pres, He is a media creation. He never said anything about a plan just a catch phrases like Hope and Change Well we changed alright.
