and as far as I have seen the yield signs are different than the traffic light.
a yield sign is still an inverted triangle -
also I think that the yellow traffic light doesn't mean yield it means clear the intersection.

Smart cookie, the yield sign is a triangle with a red border and white interior although it may surprize you to know some people still think it is yellow even though it changed some years ago

yes like the bumper sticker that says "if you can read this sign, you are driving too close"
although some signs that you obey are not always what they seem as I told the judge after a policeman gave me a ticket for driving down a one-way street and as I told the cop - I was only going one-way.

check_mate: Trivia. One for the American members. So, you are at the traffic lights and you see the yield sign or did you? Did you noticed that the colour/color has changed? Not a trick question.
There are some drivers who seem to have forgotten what most traffic signs mean let alone what a yield sign is and the color.
I think sometimes they think that Stop stands for pots.
