I know I'm totally guilty of not wanting to admit that "he's just not that into me" and I know LOTS of other women who have found themselves in that same boat!
The book may be just common sense, but hearing it from the guy's perspective was rather empowering for me. Sometimes it's the simple things.. ya know?

--and another thing: I keep hearing that as many as 85% women are supposed to have low self esteem!!
I have always agued that the men suffer from it too, just that they show it differently..
But if a guy can sell a book and appear on many talk shows because the women need to be told: He is just not that into you! - that doesnt spell low self esteem to me.. quite the opposite!!

Yes but that's the point...he does simplify it cause it always has been simple...We're the ones who have made it complex...It was merely a case of being reminded of what we already know....
The self-esteem thing...85% sounds waaaayyyyyyy too high....
I read the book & saw the movie. While I think parts of it are true, others I tend not to agree with.
Now I'm reading "You're Just Not That Into Him Either", by another author. He refutes what the first author said & gives quite a different view.
I had asked a male friend's advice on men. He said, "What you don't understand is that we're 'simpletons'. If we say something, that's usually what we mean. You women analyze us to death." I tend to believe him. When my best friend & I start to analyze a situation, we stop each other & say 'You're analyzing again! It is what it is!'
Isn't that what it boils down to?- We all have moods, we all have things that influence us during our daily lives,- and we all go in and out of focus on all things. Even the ones we love.. Its natural!
I do think women tend to read into things more than men,.. but only slightly and definitely not always.
Like some men have posted here, men too can have doubts and convoluted emotions blocking their natural loving expression.. This isnt just a female thing..
Personally I think its good to keep it simple, whenever we can. Life is complicated enough already..

LOL, her post really makes no sense. I couldn't tell wtf she was trying to say. I guess I'm too dim to know if I'm even being insulted here!
