My middle daughter used to show up 3 hours early for work every day (6 days a week). When her boss found out, he asked her why she did that, especially since she didn't get paid for those 3 hours. She didn't want him to know how much she loved her job, so she just told him that she had insomnia.

I'm late for work every morning, as I live really far from the office...the traffic in Panama is just horrendous, and if it happens that it rains coinciding with a hightide, we're doomed...the streets flood and there's no way around it...so I don't need an excuse every morning blushing

But when it's sunny...I'm in trouble...all the tires in my car have suffered flats, including the spare...my cat was attacked by a big dog...in a thunderstorm the wind knocked off the electricity, and my alarm didn't go off... you name it, I've said it...I have a chronic problem working for others... grin but I always put in my nine hours at the office, no matter how late I have to stay...

that's why I'm starting my own business... conversing

sweetowen - Horses were her (and my) life. She was a trail boss at a riding stable. She took care of 35 horses (clean, groom, tack) and cleaned the barn before the day started. She'd spend 8 hours a day in the saddle, feed the horses, then come home and take care of 15 of our own horses. Did that for 3 years. She was quite a girl.

My work ethics can be summarized as show up for work, do your work the best way, and if a better job comes your way take it. Screw loyalty. As no company is EVER loyal to an employee.

I love being a translator, and I do that on my own, I love it. But the market for translators is pretty low right now, but it is picking up, and I intend to be caught in the up-wave...

Let's be real, I work where I do because of the financial stimulus not because I love what I do. I have no flexibility, not even to take my kids to the Dr! So...I hold no special sympathies or attachments to any place of business.

that's just me, unethical...dunno

It took me forever to find this bloody thread frustrated

Sorry Aira, had to vent laugh

The case is to me I would never survive doing work that I hate to do. In your case i assume it is working in a office athmosphere. I bet when you work on your own when you love what you do. You never late for your work

laugh

The definition of Works ethics works only for those who were fortunate to have a job they are in love with. As long as we do that only for money's sake, financial situations the definition of Work Ethics is changing to "Just be at work".

And by the way I have spent 3 month! working in a office. That was the worst job experience i've ever had. I run away i even didn't take my last paycheck. I left it for employees charity.

I wish you more translating Material. It is fascinating job to let people to read and understand what they couldn't without your Help, translating people. I know what I am talkin about. I am a reader from age 4 laugh

Thanks for what you do. tip hat bouquet
