jampet: absolutely- we ARE different ( male/female) in the way we deal with things, but i think we don't allow each other this space.
Perhaps the way around this is if ( as in your example)men need time to ponder and think.. if they were to say 'I need time to ponder and think, I am not running away from this '.. it would make a world of difference, and not leave the woman the space to think that he IS! ( trust me, we can think of a thousand explanations for your not talking about it at that time! and none of them good! lol)
I'm sure you or someone else can come up with a similar example from a man's point of view, and that only reinforces my point, that we are different and need to understand that their partner doesn't think the same way. talking about it can only lead to a better understanding of that particular person( all men are not the same, as are all women)
