May be it's because some blokes think they'll never get another woman if they leave, and put up with any auld crap. Many men have little or no confidence with women.
Don't understand what women get from it, as they end up with a lapdog and not a man

some women have an impulse to 'control'. and try to impose this on the bloke. they can't fathom the idea of him having some freedom. if any woman ever tried that with me, i'd laugh and be off to the pub
you're missing the point. i don't wish to stay single. but neither do i wish to be in a relationship where either party feels they 'own' the other person. you can provide all the emotion and comfort a relationship needs without stifling each other

I'm not missing the point. Relationships are a partnership. Neither one 'owns' the other but should be supportive/understanding of each others emotional needs. When a woman has emotional needs she's told to snap out of it... when a man has them he runs away (figuratively speaking) and pretends that they don't exist.
i'm willing to take my time to find the right one (WOMAN)
seriously tho i've been in that situation before and it's not something i wish to repeat. it started out lovely duvly, soon it became stifling, which turned to major resentment and eventually a big regret that a portion of one's life was wasted. i think the most important thing is that a relationship is healthy, along with the emotional attachment of course

that's painting it very black and white. maybe because of a personal experience, i don't really wish to know. anyway just because someone insists they keep a bit of themseves to themself, doesn't mean they are not capable of supporting/understanding their partners' needs. actually quite to the contrary, i believe
