Let me tell you that it is more easier to know men than women.Because the men dont do make up.But however Women do different make up.Therefore the women can be seen different than the picture which you see them at.
If you ask my opinion , I can remember a person if he or she just same at the photo which I saw.Unless nobody can remember.And it is nearly impossible to know if the person different than the photo which you saw...

Don't worry dear, I would not have been able to recognise you either. It is not easy to recognise someone with no eyes and nose. Of course that is your choice.
Anyway, by your post I think you recognise them about 25-50%, which means they may have been the wrong person. I myself am sometimes sure I know who the person online is, but I would never chance to go up to them and say anything.
In conclusion, most people who show their face online will usually not be recognised in person if we saw them on the street, because we would have to be 100% sure before saying it is actually them.
