pierrot_le_fou: I bet you all know the Calculus of Dating:

Smart man + Smart woman = romance
Smart man + Dumb woman = affair
Dumb man + Smart woman = marriage
Dumb man + Dumb woman = pregnancy

So when I'm ready to settle, down, I need to take this advice?

Can I pick outside the box, and just say I would prefer my partner to be healthy?

Looks, wealth and the other options mean nothing, if you are not able to spend a great length of time with them. Their bad health will always be at the back of my mind.

One thing I know for sure is I have more emotional intelligence than he does. Probably why I can't lie to myself and believe my own reconstructionist history.

How about this?

To be happy with a man, you must understand him a lot and love him a little.
To be happy with a woman, you must love her a lot and not try to understand her at all.

or this?

A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't.
A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, and she does.

or this?

A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.
A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.
A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.
A successful woman is one who can find such a man.
