A good friend of mine is in a similar situation to your self Tangerino with friends being busy, travelling, married etc and she has started going out by herself. She says she is never alone for long and generally has a great time meeting many more people than she would have other wise.

I think men and women get many things right - how long we should expect this to last is another question.
Evolutionary, selfish gene-like arguments aside, it is my experience that we get it right for the first few years then fall into trouble. I'm actually not convinced I want to endure what it would take to make a relationship last a life time, rather, I will exult in our getting it right while we do and hit the road when we don't.
WYS - In 2007 I sold my share of a business, and one of the reasons for doing so, amongst many, was having the majority of my staff taking advantage of a more than generous boss.(Me) I tried every management technique in the book in trying to raise the performance of my staff, all to no avail.
I am now very grateful for their contribution to my demise as a business owner.
Morg, you make some assumptions pertaining to character that may not be correct, in my case anyway.
If I am meeting people I AM only meeting with the intention of friendship. IF that friendship then develops beyond into something else I will only have eyes for that person.
If some of my new acquaintances/friends harbored any feelings more than friendship toward me after meeting them, although I may feel awkward, my conscience is clear as I will have been completely honest with them from the start, and it is my business only who I sleep with.
Deceit is not part of my character, although I believe it unfortunately to be entwined into the fabric of others.
