Hi Narnia - Your mention of traffic in Jakarta made me unconsciously grip the arms of my chair, as if I was having some kind of bad LSD flash back.
Please warn me if you are going to mention traffic, pollution, taxi drivers or smoggy humidity in the future so I might avoid such disturbing, involuntary reflexes.
Jazzy - Absolutely. Theoretical physicists even have holographic universe hypothesis that says we are just a projection.
There is also a "many worlds" theory that proposes there are an infinite number of me and an infinite number of you living an infinite number of existences - has to do the Schrodingers cat conundrum and the incredible weirdness that is quantum physics.
Hey Jazzy - We believe ourselves to be somehow special or unique when this idea of "self" is really only a manifestation of biological mechanisms culminating in the illusion of consciousness.
Hi kenanga - I really can't invest any energy into comparisons, blame or dragging the wreck of a relationships around after it's finished, how tiresome.
I would wish the very best for my ex and any future partners of hers as I hope she would wish the same for me.
Rainbow's profile title "Sensitive compassionate, warm, kind hearted guy"
His first line Hi, "Im a soft caring warm guy, friendly."
Last night a well known female member emailed me because she thought a joke I made at rainbow's expense was uncalled for. I suggested to her I had suspicions rainbow wasn't who he professed to be.
I am getting the sense he is having great sport with us, and we are all playing admirably.
Prima - Thanks for the information. Kathmandu isn't one of my favorite places to be honest, and monastic life is a path that I would find quite difficult to pursue. But I understand you are able to meet the most interesting types.
I've been having breakfast occasionally with a monk here in Pokhara.
Prima -Probably nothing as exotic as those. Perhaps aluminium. It's quite common, malleable, inexpensive, has multiple uses and isn't a weight to carry around.
Others might say lead. Dull, dense and difficult to get through.
Had the spicy green beans (most things are spicy)duck and spicy eggs with a wonderful fibrous coconut paste at my homestay whenever the family celebrated a birthday or family day.
In Australia it would be my sister's vegetable curry, or if out, garlic tiger/banana prawns, Masala Dosa in India, Gado Gado or Nasi Campur in Indonesia, Fish and Chips in the UK, Thai green curry in Thailand, Dal Baht in Nepal......
Hi Ya Shay - Bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people. The universe is a terribly unfair and an often cruel place we find ourselves in. Fortunately there are those that regardless their own burdens in life, are able to support those that are in need.
Recently I have wrestled with this very issue, Richard. Mostly living in countries where the health system perhaps can't offer the emergency care that one might wish for, I found I was often thinking about the "what if" medical scenarios, where only a few years ago I would never have given them a second thought. This brief period of consideration resulted in me understanding this about myself...
"the here and now's are far more important to me than the future what ifs."
And so now I am enjoying a personal renaissance of innocence in a way.
