Who Am I? ~

A question many of us ask ourselves from time to time and depending upon our level of awareness, the answer may change. So, in hopes of finding out the answer (for today at least) let's try an experiment.

"Who Am I" Experiment:
1. Sit quietly for 5 minutes (ok...5 seconds for some...lol)
2. Ask the question "Who Am I?"
3. Write the answer, as it flows naturally (an effortless stream)

This can be humorous or serious...give it a try and see!peace

I am me.......
I am a waste
Hey Jazzy - We believe ourselves to be somehow special or unique when this idea of "self" is really only a manifestation of biological mechanisms culminating in the illusion of consciousness.
Hi Jack, Thanks for posting.wave And who is me?
As described by Hammockman!!
HI StillOfTheNight ....where does this belief come from?
HI Hammockman ....well said....cool Nepal must be a great place for contemplating the navel.cheering

If self is an illusion....and taken out of the equation....what is left?
Ok I have thought long and hard on the question you posted but rather than ramble on about how trustworthy sincere honest hard working kind passionate and romantic I am I think I shall just say one word……………desperate!
Jazzy - I think we're just a sack of atoms, molecules,organic compounds....etc
Jack, have you always been those things? Before being a concept/idea (take desperate for instance), who or what were you?
Hammockman - could that be an illusion too?wink
I am Moe's Medualla Oblongeta sad flower
Jazzy…. Before I became desperate I was a fool that believed that all people spoke the truth that love was not a lie and sharing meant being equal.
Jazzy - Absolutely. Theoretical physicists even have holographic universe hypothesis that says we are just a projection.

There is also a "many worlds" theory that proposes there are an infinite number of me and an infinite number of you living an infinite number of existences - has to do the Schrodingers cat conundrum and the incredible weirdness that is quantum physics. blah blah blah blah
@Hammockman

I can live with doubt and uncertainty and not knowing. I think it is much more interesting to live not knowing than to have answers that might be wrong. If we will only allow that, as we progress, we remain unsure, we will leave opportunities for alternatives. We will not become enthusiastic for the fact, the knowledge, the absolute truth of the day, but remain always uncertain … In order to make progress, one must leave the door to the unknown ajar.”
? Richard P. Feynman
no, I'm not telling ...it would be like , letting the cat out of the bag . .

there would be so many saying , I'm not ..and others like the guy who shot John Lennon , would be out to make a infamous name for them selves

so .... no I'm not telling angel teddybear
@Hammockman
It is of some 18 years I am a passionate of the Quantum field!
Always very cautious about some theoretical and non theoretical physisits proclaiming some interpretations based on theories they have not fully grasped.
I am a child :)
yes a child in a minds eye , hi sweety lips
Hi Virgo, you have never called me sweetie blushing wink

@ Jazz : Very wise! I have did something like this but usually the thing I asked myself was What am I doing? Sometimes I'm so careless and do funny things. laugh
Morg.....I liked your comment. I hope you don't mind that I reposted it here.....wave

"Well good news Still: soon we all will be dead. That is more important in my view then who i am. It's like with astro / kvante stuff. It matters as much as a fairytale to 99.99 % of us, just like with the question: who am i.
I rather study ufo's myself.

But with that said: even that dreaming of other dimentions and vertical drop of a cylindrical black hole or god knows what.. it serves a purpose too.

Jana, i realized that the other day also.
We are all children.

We are God's children. Still we overlook him. Not you Still... lol we see YOU, ok!
And look into dimentions and theories when death is around the corner. Well, jana, that is just what we want to do. Forget about death. Nothing makes us do that better then some fantastic theory.

I respect all for their needs and thoughts in this world.
Just wanted to throw in my angle here.

Go read the new testament. The rest is a waist of time.
Or at best: a false self comfort."
nonsmoker - thanks for the video....thought provoking.wave
Sometimes I'm a congero, sometimes I'm a singer, sometimes I'm a devout Christian but a full-time lover of the Lord Jesus Christ. It all depends on what I'm doing. I think were all like that!
Paul...was that before or after the bowl cut??dunno Perhaps Moe's medulla oblongata needs servicing.....
Jack - perhaps finding someone with the same expectations and/or finding out where your expectations originated from...might be helpful.handshake
I am now amazed that Jazzy caught my me"dual"la handshake
Hammockman - I've heard about the holographic universe...interesting theory...but what I find even more interesting....is it's origin.gift
two kids in a padleing pool with a rubber ducky
SpaceOdissey - I enjoyed the quote and will have to investigate Feynman's theories....he might just be on to something.cheers
Thanks for the references Hammockman ....I really am interested in listening to Feynman.thumbs up
virgosingle - you don't have to tell! just as long as you and the rubber ducky are in agreement....the world is in a safer place.peace
yes its safer than a spec of bacteriour inside a rock drifting through space , and worst still , how many billons of years will it drift befor making it to the surace of a living planet and still be alive wave
