Neanderthals were quite intelligent.

They engaged in many practices associated with modern man, including music ... recreations of their instruments show a preference for minor keys.

"Intelligence" is kinda subjective.

As modern man is making the assessment, we may have a bias against those different from us.

Strong Evidence of Neanderthal intelligence ...
They existed in a time/place of extreme cold.

In a harshly challenging environment, "stupid" would be inconsistent with survival of the fitest and keeping oneself in the gene pool.

The brains of Neanderthals were as large, or slightly larger, than those of "Modern" Man.
It's been said that they were bigger (though shorter) stronger and smarter than today's Humans.

Neanderthals were a variation on the Human kind.

Cornmeal is ground corn, often determined - hence not whole grain - and requires cooking.

Masa undergoes a process developed in pre-Columbian Mezo America called Nixtamalization.

Long story short - it retains the germ and enough fiber to be regarded a whole grain.

It's also Totally Instant ... No cooking ...Simple!
