This man did a mistake by telling you promises, which he couldnt make, BUT at least he is honest with you and came clean with you before you 've got much involved with him. If he is a very bad guy , he could have continue his relationship with you and spend good time, while he is back to his wife.

Plus, Just put yourself in his wife's place, dont you appreciate what he did by going back to his family and children? . I think you shouldnt date a married person UNTILL he get an official divorce.... what do u think?. And he also he shouldnt have thought about dating untill he finalise his issues with his wife.

I agree about what Jana28 you said, It's not fashonable any more. And , as a man i really dont like to even smell a smoker. Any time you come close to him, you still smell that "bad" smell.

I really wonder and surprised how the "normals" can be regarded as abnormal, and vice versa. The basis and the normal is not to smoke.... When I was in Sweden, smokers had to go outside the hospital buildings in a a very cold weather (below zero Fehrenhite) to be able to smoke. If a smoker is not willing to date you, I would say to you "good for you". I think, non smokers have good reason not to date smokers, to keep themselves healythy. Passive smoking would finally affect our health, if we get involved with a smoker.
