I dont smoke,, is that a prob with you ?
I didn't go to office today. I decided to spent my evening to drink a cup of tea at a small cafe. I ordered a hot lemon tea with a small slice of blueberry cheese cake.About 15-20 mins, I didn't remember, a tall guy came to my table say Hi to me. I didnt hear at first ( well, I was enjoying Muse playing on my ipod ) he waved lil bit his hand.
We had a conversation then...until he offered me a cigarette.
I refused. He was suprised. He said, " wow..what an old fashioned woman .."
I didnt say anything. I just stood up and leave him immediately.
So what if I don't smoke ??

I agree about what Jana28 you said, It's not fashonable any more. And , as a man i really dont like to even smell a smoker. Any time you come close to him, you still smell that "bad" smell.
I really wonder and surprised how the "normals" can be regarded as abnormal, and vice versa. The basis and the normal is not to smoke.... When I was in Sweden, smokers had to go outside the hospital buildings in a a very cold weather (below zero Fehrenhite) to be able to smoke. If a smoker is not willing to date you, I would say to you "good for you". I think, non smokers have good reason not to date smokers, to keep themselves healythy. Passive smoking would finally affect our health, if we get involved with a smoker.
How about this;
You start dating a person and about 1 or 2 weeks into your relationship the person starts smoking, just out of the blue! LOL!
Would you stay with them?
Cheers to tough decisions!
I suppose he isn't too cute to make you stay hehehe
never had any doubt u wouldn't date a smoker... such a 'puritan' as u wouldn't date anyone unless she sterilises herself at least 40 times a day ... I wonder if u go around in a biohazard-suit actually...
Would it really matter if he was cute? Sooner or later the smoking will be like an elephant in the room, don't you think?
Cheers!
i'd say what really matters is did she enjoy her time enough with the guy
So...your saying that if he smoked it wouldn't matter? Or that if he was hot enough and interesting enough he can smoke? Or that you love smoke and can't wait to breath it in? Or that you'll start smoking so that he can see you care for him?
Just what are you saying! LOL!
Cheers!
There ya go!
Cheers!
ok ok ... i fell again in the same habit...
ermmm .. yeah... but kinda I still consider a claim of the sort: 'I would never date a smoker' absurd...
...true, true... ain't me business but I definately find it insiting
me apologies ....
That's why we have to write on our profiles whether we are smokers or not and it's like this in all dating sites. That means people consider it less or more important for a relationship!
LOL, word.
I smoke & dislike myself for it! I promised myself, I'll give it up & hopefully with keep my promise! Am just going through a bit of difficulty now, but soon.....
Anyway as I said " great decision"!
awesome jim .. u apparently have read the back of the cigarette packet.
well .. yeah your right as u say ... do u eva have a drink jim? I bet u don't either cause it can cause stomach/mouth cancer, cerosis, kidney damage & eventually failure, alcoholic drinks are hi GI .. etc etc etc....
somethin tells me that u leave a really really exciting live jim
... B.O.R.I.N.G!
yeah that's what the packet says too ... bet it's true ...
polution does exactly the same.. (acts as foreign androgens and hence what u mention eventually occurs)
*live
lovely jim!! .. almost forgot u r a biologist...
lemme ask .... how the heck did Hela cells managed to infect everybody else samples despite many, many claim they had no contact whatsoever with Hela samples? ... they were also spotted in russia during the cold war!!!!!!!
...cannot understand how it could have happened ... (genuinely asking ... no pun ...)
thanks brother!
But to answer your question - cross contamination from human error.
I could never get this attitude although as I said I'm not a fanatic. If it's their choice no problem! The thing I can't accept is them to impose this twisted point to people who prefer the most natural thing: not to smoke and not to drink.
If someone is a bored/boring person and needs stimulants to enjoy life it's their problem, but don't say that others are the "boring" ones...
even over here mate.... there is a national phobia of smoking... i bet they are plotting to make it completely illegal at some pt...
simply pathetic! ... gonna end up somewhat like the great depression ...
well, guys...
I appreciate your comments here . I was a smoker, and glad I stopped 2 years ago. I don't mind if he smokes. I refused his cigarettes offered politely. I did.
But, the one thing I didn't like, he responded with not polite comment - an old fashioned woman - with his mocking smile.
@ Oly : unfortunately,, I already paid the tea and blueberry cake.
