Oh Virgo...that makes me sad! I'm sorry your children are MIA...hopefully they will contact you some day. I would be lost if my children did that to me. Three of my boys are grown and if I haven't heard from them in a few days, I put out an APB and let them know they need to call their mother!
Oh Jana...I wish I could say about Michigan men! I have met some very nice ones...but not THE one. It seems that every man I meet that I find interesting lives...somewhere else. Being a single mom, not so easy to just take off and live the life I'd like. But someday, when my little guy is grown, perhaps I will be able to see the world and find my man.
You are right, Adam...it's not always the man who is the instigator. And to be fair...it's a two way street. In every relationship, if we are honest, there is enough blame to go around when it doesn't work out.
He's doing much better. Still weak, but can carry on a conversation now and has been playing with his legos. He's a little trooper and doesn't let anything get him down for long. Also, a good night's sleep in his own bed helped!
When I was little, we lived out in the country and it was not unusual for the power to go out during severe storms. We used to get out my moms old kerosene lantern and sit around the table and play cards...some of the best times of my life were when the power went out.
Our reasons for procreating may indeed be biological and selfish, hammockman...but a true parent forgets that as soon as the child is put into their arms. From that moment on, your only thought is for the wellbeing of the child. Anyone who has a child knows that there are moments when that child will profess to hate you...will be difficult and troublesome...but through it all you love them still.
LOL, Frank! When I was with my ex and things got really bad, I would tell my friends to practice their interview for the 11 o'clock news..."She seemed so NORMAL!"
Thanks, Exotic... I will admit to having a smile on my face today because of emails from a certain gentleman. You are right, pops... it makes all the difference in the world.
Merry Christmas, everyone! And it's Albert Finney, austinjames! He was actually quite young when he made this movie in the 70's and I think did an awesome job reflecting Scrooge's inner twistedness in his outward appearance.
Jana...I had not heard that about the visitors...and as luck would have it, two of my boys are visiting me today, so my hope for the new year is very good indeed.
youretheone...it has been mild, hasn't it. i keep waiting for that boot full of snow to drop!!
