I really don't think they would be planning to destroy the moon entirely.
(a) We depend on tides caused by lunar gravity. Without the moon, the fish in the sea would die, and our ecosystem and economies would collapse.
(b) The debris from the destruction of such a large celestial body could destroy our environment.
(c) What would happen if the force necessary to destroy a moon were to affect Earth's orbit? Any change in orbit could either knock us into the sun, or eject us from the solar system.
(d) This is an interesting story, but nobody who's smart enough to be able to make that weapon would be dumb enough to use it or even consider using it.
Dating online seems fundamentally flawed. I can only speculate about what the reason is though. It's possible that the convenience motivates people to hold out for someone better, even when they find someone good. The convenience could also make people lazy. Maybe the deliberate nature of deciding to find someone before actually finding them makes the whole process to forced to be enjoyable.
Whatever the reason is, a person's odds of success actually decrease when dating online, at the very least on free sites. The odds may be slightly better on an expensive site, though I don't believe the improvement would be enough to justify the price, regardless of what it is.
