RE: only colored woman

Hi Miss Mayberry, and welcome. I think you will find that the blogger (blogging?) community does not have many black people, of either gender. However, my best friend on CS is a black Jamaican like yourself, and I have been contacted by, and found many other folks from all over the Caribbean. Just post a story, or make a general comment about yourself or your fine country and you will meet many more folks who generally read but do not respond to the blogs.
Have fun, share some time with us, and keep on writing. thumbs up

RE: I'm getting sooo tired of

I was naive when I first joined these sites and did respond to an email request, got lots of junk before I put a spam filter on the domain. Usually no view of my profile before a message telling me how great my profile looks is a clue.
Then I have also been lucky and have made two real friends one of whom I have met recently. I guess it is luck of the draw, but I do agree that blocking some regions never hurts, it does diminish the churn.

RE: About Christmas

Hi Amy, in Canada the Christmas period is about one week, and it does depend on the actual day. If it is a Saturday or Sunday people start taking time off in the middle of the previous week and then try to stretch it out until the following weekend.
Advent actually begins on the Sunday between Nov 27 and Dec 3, and runs for 4 weeks, this may explain why many people say that the Christmas period starts on Dec 1. This is when most people here start putting up their decorations.

The retail sector would like to start in September if they could very mad
