Should you not feed yourself and your family first before looking good in the eyes of others (as if that somehow counts for something). I have lived in few countries during the years and have always found my own country to be the worst for looking down their noses at who they consider to be not in the same class as them, as if they had a God given right to do this. For those who believe in a hereafter do you think how much you amassed during your time on earth will add up in the end.
A long time ago in Ireland almost every household with a substantial family wanted to have some of their children either a priest or a nun, thinking it was a gateway to the hereafter.
