Materialism
A friend of mine's son who is good friends with a member of a family of 7 inclusive of parents, was invited to stay over in their home for the weekend. They have a massive house, 2 cars and an SUV also.
He was feeling a bit overawed by what they had.
On Sunday morning when he awoke early, he decided, as he loves to cook, to get up and make breakfast for the family.
When he had everything done and the table laid he went to each bedroom and told them breakfast was ready.
They all came down to the dining room where he had all their meals ready for them.
Oh my God, says the mum what have you done, to which he replied that this was his way of saying thanks for having him for the weekend.
You have just about cooked all my weeks food supply says the mum, what will I do now?
An old saying I once heard in Kerry to describe this.....'fur coat and no knickers'.

I have lived in few countries during the years and have always found my own country to be the worst for looking down their noses at who they consider to be not in the same class as them, as if they had a God given right to do this.
For those who believe in a hereafter do you think how much you amassed during your time on earth will add up in the end.
A long time ago in Ireland almost every household with a substantial family wanted to have some of their children either a priest or a nun, thinking it was a gateway to the hereafter.
