A. I'm an American prince. I offer it to you if you'll send us your bank transfer info and cash for legal fees. Ten large should do. Deal expires in ten minutes so don't delay. Aa.
CC. Thanks. Upset, unless it's wanton rage, typically implies some lever of directed cognitive thinking/writing underlying the emotion. When the thought becomes so disorganized, perhaps other processes dominate. Aa.
Well, L J. I think I get the gist of your politics, so I'm glad you mention the weirdness, beginning with the moon bat Gov. It is a beautiful state. But the minorities scene is a bit much for me. I'm sure you can choose a place there where cars aren't up on blocks, and loud Cholo music isn't blaring all the time. Like Wyoming, Maine has the smallest minority population in the union. Extirpate diversity. Aa.
Well, humbly said,....we now have better evidence for gravitons, with ligo and other findings. But seems like there's still more work to be done in these regards on the standard and other models. But in physics, I'm merely just another dilletante bozo on the bus. Humbly said. Aa.
OK. One of the (Latvian) friends I'll be meeting there has ambassador friends as well, so perhaps I'll see a bit of the high life. Staying in Alfama area---old, bohemian, value, near lots. But thanks for the tip on the market. Love these. Azores should be an eye opener too. Short visit. Aa.
Correct you are, M, of course. Just a little exaggeration. First time there, in spite of my heritage. Thought I'd begin with Lisbon in site of the climate. Aa.
PS, not to forget, I enjoyed my times in Oz and Kiwiland. Sat behind the tympani's for full orchestra performance of Mahler's first in the awesome Opera House---student ticket price!!! Aa.
TR---all great choices, although sort of prefer Goa, again the Luisitanian influences. Funny you should mention Guatemala. A buddy who runs a public health non profit is suggesting I come partially out of semi retirement to jump back into the clinical trenches and help out in his clinics there. He's expanding to the Dark Continent as well. Might be interesting. Anyway, in my older age, escaping winters, however one does so, seems much more interesting. Aa
Yep, P. We've all been there. Glad I now drink more reasonably. Years ago in different times, had many more regrets over the talk and actions. May be a good chunk of sociopathy on these blogs, so can't expect regrets nor much empathic or self reflective behaviors. Reared by parents/sensibilities of vastly different situations and skills, all of us, no?
And, when the lady implies, indeed actually admits, let alone brags, about her poverty---even the prettiest face is best passed over. Life's lessons. Aa.
Micman----Question for all. Ever notice how almost all of the alt left males talk? Very few seem to have traditional male voices/speech---ie, tending toward a deeper register, little lilting cadences, rare use of the psuedo halting semi studder, much less inconsiderate interruption than, say, almost all NPR/msnbc reporters, respect rather than ad hominem disses, and so on. You'd think all millennial males were light in the loafers and rude. Can it be? Aa.
Joke I sometimes tell in my foreign language social groups. What is the adjective describing a person who speaks many languages? Ans.---polyglot. And for one who speaks two? Ans.---bilingual. And only one? -----American. Aa.
LS. AddenDUM. A bit old fashioned now with the internet, but international short wave radio helped me as well. Most larger national broadcasters include well designed and fun language learning shows with other broadcast programming. Radio China International, Deutsche Welle, Radio Exterior de Espanya, Radio France International and of course, VOA, come to mind. Aa.
LS---all good hints here so far. I've lived and worked in German, Spanish and French cultural-linguistic environments, and now have these languages. My suggestions follow my experience as a third year college "junior year abroad" exchange student decades ago in Freiburg, Germany. I continued there for my first years of medical school, finishing in Mexico, thereby enabling me to pass USA exams and enter the profession here. In my first college year in Freiburg, I went with a gaggle of other American students---both graduate and undergraduates. Most spent almost all their time with other English speakers, perhaps for fun, loneliness and (?) sloth. Many lived together. I was cordial with them, but avoided these kids as a rule. I went so far as to live in a German student dormitory. I had only beginning college level German then, and the first few months were tough, especially since German university students all speak excellent English. But I convinced them to speak only German with me. A cautionary tale. But your English seems good, so perhaps it should be easier for you. Some learn other languages easier with each new one. Good luck. Aa.
Yes, N. Much depends on whether the judge, as with much of Hollywood and the left biased liberal media, are members of the Tribe. Bias permeates a lot of the process, and not merely the sort of when a defendant stands in front of a judge, and both give the Mason secret hand maneuver. My cynicism is choking me. Aa.
All true, LJ. But judgment is often colored by the culture of the judged/judges. Some groups are over represented in many issues, and the results show biases. Aa.
