Good advice, and thanks. My only concern is fairness. This is a nice lady, who really is a friend. Chance plays such a large part in our lives, that to assume things are more than mere chance might be silly. ;And unnecessarily hurtful. ;-). R.
Yes, the folks posting here are of course correct in saying that the most important thing is what makes two people happy. But it is true that age differences in human relationships present challenges. Especially when the difference in years is as great as a generation, say 15-20 years. Such people can have greatly different cultural and experiential differences, that over time, do present relationship issues. Best to both discuss all this at the outset of a new potential relationship, so all cards are on the table, in openness and fairness. But people are quite individual. For example, I like to dance in pubs to loud live rock, even at my age. Some ladies I have dateg over a generation younger than me found this stupid. Each to his own, no? R.
Obama a great orator. C'mon, he's an affirmative action political plant, who thinks they speak Austrian in Austria, and that there are 57 states here. Line up a hundred students who made it into the Ivy League on their merit and character, rather than on ethnicity, and ask them general knowledge questions. You'll see.
Sanders and Trudeau. Not all about the USA is positive, but in many regards, there are documented accomplishments and values somewhere between Mexico and Canada. If this fellow somehow wins the election, he'll be a big force in the evolution to mediocrity of North America on the world stage. How wonderful that our close neighbors can be of great help in this latter regard. BTW, speaking of debates, if Mrs. Clinton ever has to face Senator Cruz in a fair debate, she'll feel like she had just walked into the wood chipper.
Good points. Having traveled a bit, and lived in a few places, I love life in the West, principally for the political and many personal freedoms, and the rule of law (mostly). But my chief complaint about our lives here in the USA and in much of the EU and Australasia is that we really have far too much by way of material items. Creates slovenly and selfish attitudes and general softness, and xenophobia as well. Aaltarboy
All, two wrongs of course don't make a right, as we all heard from our grannies. But if Daesh/ISIL had such ordnance, who doubts they'd hesitate to put one in one of our hospitals, schools, malls, subways (UG'S), etc? The West still has "small" tactical (ground artillery shell)devices and neutron ones as well. Where are our needed talented statesmen and women?
There's an old German saying, "long hair---short understanding". But I haven't found this always to be true. Really smart women come in all lengths of hair, as do the others. It may apply more to how thick the make up is caked on. ( ? Deeper goop, shallower depth.) In men it may have to do with how much strong cologne we pour all over ourselves, our comb-overs, or the tons of bling some of us clip on. Fun to watch ourselves as humans, no?
Thanks, Loulou, and likewise we are grateful for the many wonderful things our friends to the north provide. Why, just last month, I had a bout of insomnia, refractive to all treatments. So I just popped on a few DVD's of various form of Canadian art, music, film, literature, TV, radio, etc., and it worked like a charm. Asleep like a baby. Je vous en prie, demoiselle. ;-)
Si, Grouchy, y gracias por la repuesta. Sin dudo, hay bastante diferencias entre damas que viven en partes diferentes del mundo. Pero Ud. tiene razon---que viven las diferencias!. R.
Sure, first snow or two are special, invigorating, offer opportunities for sport, make holidays wonderful, and lots more. But after that, you are welcome to all the rest of it. But I admit that this view of snow is new for me, as a kid, I couldn't get enough of the white stuff.
I still have some more of the world to see. But did my fair share of globe trotting already. Some places have always been quite low on the bucket list, including almost all of the African continent. God, I'm so happy that I have done the traveling already, considering how doing so has gotten unpleasant, and even unacceptably dangerous. Had planned to take my family to a part of the EU I hadn't seen yet. Dumped these plans.
RE: World Cancer Day
Loving and caring health workers? It's really the shameless compensation, and access to hot radiology techs and loose nurses. :-). R.
