It's been done for almost a decade. Memoir and mental health guerilla survival manual. Passed it around, and folks liked it, but most commented, "Put it down, live a bit more in your recovery, revise and publish. Stop writing like a detatched scientist, and talk more about feelings". Boy, girl, were they ever spot on. " Aa.
Spot on and grounded, GG. But I forgot to mention chatting for advice with a confidant, and sometimes with young children. If they can understand the issue, and sometimes especially if they can't. their advice sometimes is stunning. Simplefy. Aa.
Was fortunate to spend quite a while in two foreign places (Norway and La Belle Provence) with real native speakers. Could have used many more with American and Scandinavian right wing sensibilities while north of this border. But got along with conservatives there, just fine, and with others who were open minded. That quality never hurts. But you are correct about romance with foreigners or others in distaant places. Alluring, special, forboding, exciting, different, even magnetic and so on. Aa.
Need to take the musings of most self loathing members of the Tribe with a grain of salt. Just try to tolerate Noam Chomsky's America hating shuck and jive for more than a short while. With the last three Fed Chairpeople, it was everyone bend over and hold both ankles. Who's surprised? Aa.
But it is a serious issue for men on these sites at least, and perhaps for women. Of course, being a cat lover says tons about personality, in terms of income, work ethic, exercise style, tolerance of annoyance, treatment of children (if any), expectations of other humans, and in particular men-esp. men in family and a partner, hygiene, and occasionally education. But like all generalizations, only useful as a general guideline. But opposites often apply to dog lovers, perhaps also in men as well. Aa,
LOFL. Even at a quite young age, didn't take my sisters and our own twin ladies long to catch onto this ruse in our home. But for proper full effect, always better to play after a night out at a Mexican eatery. Hold the Beano, please. Aa..
Yes, quite, my Wisconsin friend. Miss my days in Green Bay, with those awesome supper clubs Fridays, 75 cent lipstick on the glass 12 oz brewskys, the 15 pound lake Michigan trout on the grill, don't mention the walleye, the Appleton experimentsl aircraft fly in, and those yummy blondie, long legged, big toothed, hair puffed up in front, Nordic ethnic girls. You bet ya!. Aa.
Yes, Elegs. That's been my experience. But I'm learning a lot from others, and if they are foreign, sometimes get to know a bit about their country as well. However, people do meet, become attached and even marry via such sites. I used to say it beats the old ways, such as church, bars, meeting places, outing clubs, etc. Not so sure any more. Travel and cruises are said to have merit. Aa.
Here in the great NE of the USA we have our Canadian friends shopping here frequently. Always welcome---good chance to practice the Quebecois, and rarely real French. But who thinks they are here for poor selection of products or higher prices, esp. petrol and tech things? And border guards should simply do a word pronounciation test. If it's OOOOT for out and BEEEEEN for been, just let 'em in. Aa.
Ability to restrict by personal characteristics, even, perhaps especilly, by race, is fair and efficient. One of the best parts of CS is the large world wide volume of potential matches. It's then our job as patrons to decide whom we desire. It's the zenith of efficiency, even if 99+% of the losers here don't come close to my high standards of intelligence, education, poise, assets, family background, sensibilities, politics, residence, adventuroud spirit, and rarely looks, habitus and humility. I've been with women from just about all "races", and met nice ladies from every background. But my experience guides my preferences. BTW, RACE is in my opinion is an often misused word and concept, matie. Aa.
I agree. But don't you think that they sometimes can change. I've seen it often. Sometimes it's a real bottom in life, or a spiritual epiphany, perhaps the right words from a confidant or fsmily member, war, losses, etc. Aa.
Well, Ms. Itchy, of course you are correct. And thanks for changing my usual srtrident and gloomy post trail to a more pleasant theme. I regret that I can't be anywhere within a mile of carrot cake, esp. with the sweet white coffee frosting and oodles of raisins. Few other things worth my kingdom. Aa.
Valid point, LJ. People do have to earn their bread honestly. And right on for the pols. I just find that administration, commercial or government, does have a way of growing. Think what the founding fathers would think if they were transported to Washington, or Sacramento, or Augusta, today, with the cabinet department buildings. Dozens of them----each with hundreds/thousands of paper pushers and regulators. Aa.
Agree, totally, GG. I bet spring in EIRE is special. Was only ever there at Shannon on way to London as a student, but was struck by the verdant nature of the vegitation. There's green, then there's GREEN! Yes, I'm amazed how truly talented composers capture various idioms of time, place, emotion, etc. The four seasons tops my list. R.
RE: Let your words be few
Si, claro, hermana Cubana. Y a gustos no hay nada escrita. No? Aa..
