Imagine being dropped on an island as a young child, surviving and being brought up without the concept of god or religion.
Would that person have a religion? I think not. It is a hand-me-down, cultural thing along with being a man made concept to start with.
There is no "right" religion. They all do some good and some bad but are based on fiction. It's just that people need an explantion for life and death when one can't be given totally. JMO
Well you said a "friend" asked you to marry him... Maybe you should do the boyfriend thing for a while and see how it goes? You said he was a nice guy ect.
Sometimes believing in something like creation is easier to deal with for some people...even Darwin had to deal with mortality in the end huh.
To say we were created from dust is a bit fanciful in my opinion. The proofs in DNA and science. Evolution all the way for me.
Also, to say that we will act like animals if we are taught that are in fact one, is ignorant and unfounded. Blinding people from the truth in favour of a religious slant on things is very dangerous.
I think difference in religion is a ridiculous reason to kill anyone over. I am not religious or a believer in the concept of a god, so to me it makes no sense at all. People killing other people over fairytales.
How about, instead of classifying black or white you say, what attracts people to other people? I don't think you can put attraction in a box like that. Thats kind of overly simplistic.
I couldn't care less what 99.999999% of the people on earth think about me. Only the people i care about matter in that regard.
However, if people have a negative opinion and share it with me...then they better be able to justify it or both barrels they will get That's totally fair i think...
