Definitely truth for both men and women. Some studies show that tall (good looking) men and women get more promotions at work and advance easier in their careers. I guess it is easier to impress people and appear confident. When you get accepted just by your looks, I guess you don't have to work on your other skills in order to advance but more and more really good looking people, manage to have it all working out for them. I believe that self confidence and looking after oneself can be a great compensation for not being born with a movie star looks. Sometimes, you catch yourself considering someone really, really attractive because you just love how they carry themselves and on the second look, you realize that they don't posess the clasical beauty. I know all lot of beautiful people who are not interesting to me at all. I can look at them and say "yes, they are really pretty", so what? It does boil down to being a complete and fulfilled person after all...
It is just like anything else really, helps one way, harms the other. Maybe it is all happening because cities are too big for the old women to connect singles like they used to gazillions of years ago.. Maybe it is because we are divorcing now and being single at certain age is not easy. You don't have a bunch of friends to "hang out" with you every Saturday night. You don't even want to any more. Let's be positive, ok. It is just the connecting hub. Some people are willing to go and explore more than the others. And it really is not true about the money being the biggest requirement in the dating world at least. It is good to have it so you don't have to worry about it but it is not a self purposeful by any means...not to me. Peace.
