NUMBER OF WAYS TO SPOT A PHONY, OR SOMEONE IMPERSONATING SOMEONE ELSE

Have you been chatting or talking with someone for a long while and after you thought that the relationship was going somewhere finally, you find out that the person you were involved with is not a real person, more of a phony, or an impersonation of someone else, including pics, location, and everything else. Well, this has happened to me, and now, it is very difficult to trust who’s at the other end, especially, when they are from other countries. I feel very insecure and that it must not be a real person on the other side, but someone from Nigeria, for example, and if they are from the UK, I start to believe that this must be another one of those people. I have learned their lingos and whenever I hear something like…”my wife died in a car accident and I have child..blah, blah”..in addition, they give you their email address immediately, and try to force you to add them to your chat list…that is a sign to me. Also..when you chat with them…they start talking to you as if you already have a relationship with them. They say they don’t want money, so what the heck do they want? I would like to talk to someone without the feelings of being taken for a ride and feeling comfortable talking to. Could there be peace of mind when meeting someone from another country? What a dilemma.. please…My question is:
How do you spot these phonies…scammers…or whatever the heck they are? What do you do when you meet someone you think is a nice guy but you fear that it might be someone impersonating someone else?

RE: Would you agree that ANY RELATIONSHIP is better than NO RELATIONSHIP AT ALL?

I agree! To be miserable in a relationship and hate it..I rather be alone and happier.

RE: Would you agree that ANY RELATIONSHIP is better than NO RELATIONSHIP AT ALL?

I prefer to wait, because to be in a relationship that is not true to my heart, then I'll be lying to myself, what a waste of time. I'm looking for love and be loved back and if I have to pretend, then why fooled myself.

RE: 'MAN OR MONEY' ??????? WHAT MATTERS ????

Sorry, but at this point in life..what the heck..I hate to choose and since I have waited for so long to find someone, and I'm not getting any younger...it might has well be all I can have..and I mean...ALL...man, money, good looks, the mansions, the boats, everything..I mean everything...why be picky about it.

RE: Guys in girls pictures

Or when they post a pic with a group, it is very difficult to know who posted to profile, which I also find it a turn off. Are we supposed guess who he/she really is?

RE: Honest answer: Is it sad if a guy is lonely

Thanks for Link. Pretty neat!

RE: I'm Sick of Being Single!? plz i need hlp

You're very young. Imagine some of us who've been waiting longer and still waiting for the one. Take your time enjoying your life first, because you might find the one and then...there goes your freedom to roam.

RE: Gentlemens Clubs

It is true...when I passed by the entrance, that was the odor coming out from the inside that place..I know, I was there! You weren't there..

RE: What is the most Romantic Gift to give a lady?

Surprising me at work w/flowers. After the flowers die, I can put them inside a book to dry and keep them to remember that special occasion.

RE: its not easy finding a girl

I agree with you Goth. Sometimes feeling lonely is because of the responsibility and feeling overwhelmed. Take the time and spend it with your kid. She'll appreciate it later. Besides...like Goth said...it is not a good idea having different girls/women in and out of your kid's life. She will want to call one of them mom and then she leaves, and that will confuse the kid. Your kids is still too young and you need to care for her first..and like the others said...take care of your needs and wants later.

CHEMISTRY

I thank you for your honest opinion. However, if you are just dating for no special reason, just for having fun, then, of course, chemistry is not important.

CHEMISTRY

Don't dismiss anything until you get the facts...meet face to face which is the real deal, and you'll never know who he/she is until that moment.

CHEMISTRY

I believe that chemistry has to be part of a relationship to be able to work. After talking or chatting for months, you meet that person face to face and to find out that he/she is not what you thought of or imagine. I know that this has happened to many people. They felt a connection through their words and it was a disappointment after they met. It happens!

CHEMISTRY

Thank you for your opinion. However, there are a lot of people here that prefer to find chemistry in order to make a great connection with someone.

CHEMISTRY

very true..people should go on dates without any type of expections and see what could happen. I feel that chatting and talking on the phone should be limited, at least, until after the meeting.

CHEMISTRY

I totally agree. Sometimes, chatting online and talking on the phone can give you a bogus impression of feelings that in reality don't exist. Then, when the time comes to meet face to face, we realize that there is no chemistry, or that we don't like the way the other person is, or looks. I believe that we should meet face to face first, and if we click, then we can establish a verbal communication where we can talk explicitly about any topic we like or choose, either online or phone.

CHEMISTRY

Everyone wants to find the chemistry that connects two people when they first meet. My question is: what happens after that chemistry is found? Do you stop there and try to expand that relationship, or do you continue searching for others?
I found out that most of these online people do not want the chemistry after is found; it is just the thrill of finding it.
Then, it becomes a head game, trying to find out how many people they can get. Meanwhile, they are hurting others with this game, not having any concern about the person they just met. In addition, when they find themselves too deep into some sort of unwanted relationship, and they decide that is time to break it up, their excuse would be something like this: “I was seeing someone while back and now he/she wants to renew our relationship again, and I decided to give it another try.”
Have you experienced something like this? How easy it is to break someone's heart!
