Well a male friend tells me it's a good place for men to take their mistresses and the RAF used to have a club where the men could phone their wives from the toilets pre mobiles and he shoud know he is a member..

Actually,it has EVERYTHING to do with being a gentleman. In an upscale club,if you don't behave like a gentleman,you get thrown out by very big bouncers. The low rent strip clubs can be a little different,but as I don't go in them,I wouldn't know. be seeing you------ This thread is Archived ------

If you are truly were a gentlemen then ladies from your area would be throwing themselves at you and you would be able to have you pick from any of them instead you choose to go to seedy, shady, dirty, disease ridden clubs and are still able to maintain the delusion that you are a "gentleman" ? Nope, you are a man with commitment issues, unfaithful and will have a very hard time finding anybody of quality until you respect yourself and ladies.

Clearly there are women who don't understand men. Everyone I know has been to a 'gentlemen's club'. All men love the woman's body. Seeing them is part of a wedding pre-night event; part of guys being guys; and, just plain fun.

I don´t think they should be called gentlemen´s clubs, look up the word gentleman in the dictionary. However, if men choose to haunt such places that´s their choice, and as John said, they can be a source of harmless fun on stag nights. Women also have similar fun on hen parties.
Incidentally they are called "nightclubs" here in Spain. There is one quite near to where I live, and I have to say that when I´m walking past there during the day sometimes, the men who I´ve noticed entering, are middle-aged or older, seedy looking types, often with their hands in their pockets!

In Britain, a gentleman's cub is concidered as exactly that. Usually ex services, commerce, law types etc. Wearing blazers and handlebar moustaches, chatting in a garbled Pythonesque manner sipping cognac and nibbling on brandy snaps. A very uperclass, gentry , elitist kind of scene.....
