RE: Should Britain leave the EU?

YEAH LOT'sa LUCK

In the 3rd quarter of 2015, Greece's national debt amounted to 171 percent of the gross domestic product. The overall EU GDP amounted to almost 14 trillion euros in 2014.

Comparison of the EU Member States
Below you find real time clocks of the national debt and the budget surplus/deficit of the member countries of the European Union (EU) under the Maastricht Treaty in percent of GDP (debt to GDP ratio, surplus/deficit to GDP ratio). According to the Maastricht Treaty, the national debt should not exceed 60.0 percent of GDP and the deficit should not exceed 3.0 percent of GDP.

European debt crisis: It's not just Greece that's drowning in debt

Wednesday 22 June 2016

With Greece drowning in debt and facing exit from the eurozone, we had a look at how the other EU countries are coping with their debt

Greece’s public debt is, unsurprisingly, the highest in the EU - standing at 177% of its GDP. Italy and Portugal are the next most indebted countries, with debts of 132% and 130% of national economic output respectively.

The smallest debts, as a proportion of GDP, were seen in Estonia, Norway and Bulgaria - all of whose government debts are below 30% of their GDP.
The United Kingdom’s debt currently accounts for 89.4% of its GDP, ninth highest in the EU.

Euro Area Government Debt to GDP 1995-2016 | Data | Chart | Calendar
Euro Area recorded a Government Debt to GDP of 90.70 percent of the country's Gross Domestic Product in 2015. Government Debt to GDP in the Euro Area averaged 75.12 percent from 1995 until 2015, reaching an all time high of 92 percent in 2014 and a record low of 64.90 percent in 2007. Government Debt to GDP in the Euro Area is reported by the Eurostat.

RE: Average

Approximating a statistical norm, determining an average or expected value even if lacking special distinctions, like rank, or status is commonly encountered or lacking an exceptional quality of understanding or ability around the middle of a scale of evaluation or relating to or constituting the most frequent value in any distribution or constituting of a middle value or ordered set of values, or the average of the middle of two in a set of even numbers or values or average height for age or a average person in a street that somehow indicates normality but with connotations of mediocrity perhaps even an ordinariness as a direct consequence of being an average in not outstanding any middle value of an ordered set of values extending toward the middle therefore bringing us to a happy medium in a scale of evaluation to determine a reference for an expression that we are on average up the creek without a paddle

RE: The Aussie election

you only just worked out they lost the plot Micky?

the only plot they got going is the salary of $500,000 per year plot...

Whole bloody process is affected by a form of madness or insanity, always has been. For a moment consider this Micky. Two dud get hold of all the news media and tell everyone how they gunner spend millions here and zillions here there and every where, hoping you'll vote for them in an election that is supposed to be electing people to represent your views on the floor of parliament or senate.
The grossly dishonest duds waving the carrot of spending money here there or where ever, are spending the peoples money in that way without asking or been directed by electors to spend the money or anything else.
Its all crazy an insanity so don't for get to vote accordingly

RE: The Aussie election

between them they learned already

all both major parties need to do is talk about jobs, school any subject will do, infrastructure and health.
All other subjects are a no no, and the usual full of self interest dumb voters will insure the major parties get over the line.

To do otherwise would be political suicidal as most voters get up early hurriedly eat an unhealthy breakfast, jump in the car and drive on jammed packed freeways with a nice comfortable tarred surface, drop snotty nose off, and clock into some meaningless task that takes all day, pick tired little gem, slot back into the fast lane with the same dumb pricks you cursed for an hour early in morgan, darling I'm home, how was the milkmen and plumber today love...

German foreign minister accuses Nato of 'warmongering' with military exercises that could worsen tensions with Russia

Ten cities across the world are hosting a week of events dubbed “First they came for Assange,” featuring Noam Chomsky, Slavoj Zizek, Yanis Varoufakis and Patti Smith, among others. It marks four years of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s detention.

As of June 19, Assange has been deprived of his freedom for 2,022 days.

RE: The Aussie election

Certainly Putin would agree

Vladimir Putin used a keynote address in his home city of St. Petersburg this weekend to outline his belief that America uses NATO to drive a wedge between the EU and Russia. Instead, he offered an alternative vision for European unity.

RE: Happy Birthday Serene!

its nice to see your celebrating a hopefully very happy birthday Serene twenty at long last dearie??

RE: The Aussie election

Russia does have dairy farms

Russian dairy farms are undergoing huge development

WELL
Belgorod is a region which is about 600km or two hours south of Moscow, almost on the Ukrainian border. Accompanied by Enterprise Ireland representatives, I visited a Russian grain and milk company called Greendale. Greendale Milking Company operates 11 dairy farms, with 7,500 milking cows farming almost 12,000ha. It has 1,500 employees with a turnover of 1.8 billion rubles (RUB), or €36m.

meanwhile next door / you might recall Europe imposed sanctions on Russia over Ukraines in direct consequence of West Ukraine directing MH17 outside safe corridor straight to easy Ukraine missile system

Under impact from the Russian embargo, reducing procurement prices for Latvian dairy producers cause losses worth EUR 7 – 9 million every month. With that, it is likely that many dairy farms will be forced to close down by the end of 2014, as reported by Chairman of Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Centre Martinš Cimermanis.
