RE: Immigration rising in Australia

Really thoughts on starting the conflict that leads to your concerns was a "very emotional" one for the government too, you poor dear
Australia had not been at war since the last combat troops withdrew from Vietnam in December 1971, but a war came along on Hawke’s watch.
In August 1990, Iraq invaded Kuwait and Australia joined the US-led international coalition.
Hawke remembers it as an emotional time for Labor which had vigorously opposed involvement in Vietnam.
“There is no doubt the first Gulf War was absolutely justified,” he said.

Islam was not the problem but fanaticism, whether it be fanatics acting in the name of Islam, Judaism or Christianity, he said, and argued that the invasion of Iraq by George W Bush would not have occurred without the influence of the Christian right in the United States.

The decision for Australia to become involved in the first war against Saddam Hussein – after he led an Iraqi invasion of Kuwait – was a "very emotional" one for the government, in the caucus and the cabinet, Mr Hawke said crying poor bob

"[President Bush] said Canada was not coming on board. Brian Mulroney, who was the prime minister of Canada, said he wasn't coming aboard because they had such big wheat markets [in Iraq]. I said 'George you leave Mulroney to me'. And I rang Brian – with whom I had very good relations … he had been a marvellous supporter of me in my leading the fight against apartheid within the Commonwealth heads of Government.

"We were good mates. I said, 'Hey Brian, what's this crap I hear from George that you're not coming aboard in regard to getting Saddam out of Iraq because of your wheat trade'?

"I said 'we've got a bloody big wheat trade too, but we are in'.

"He said 'OK Bob, we are in too'.

"So George was very pleased about that."

RE: Immigration rising in New Zealand

If you want to believe the Ratana church then go right ahead I don't care what christians choose to believe anymore but i wish ye lots of luck

Maori History
The question humanity has searched for through the ages is viewed from many angles, who is IO (God), and where is the dwelling place of this Supreme Being? How was the world created? How did Mankind, come into being. The ancient birthplace of Maori, Hawaiki-Nui, Hawaiki-Roa, Hawaiki-Pamamao, unveil a mystery in the ancient legendary homeland called Ha-wai-ki (Filled With Breath Water) literal translation. Maori people discovered an important message concealed in this name. The story in the Old Testament publishes its view on the beginning of human creation in the “Book of Genesis” likewise with Maori Whakapapa. Where is Hawaiki? Many have speculated that it lies somewhere in the Pacific, perhaps Polynesia. With the introduction of advanced technology and DNA testing, scientist, archaeologists, anthropologist including historians alike still argues the origin of Maori migration. Numerous debates deciding whether or not Maori migrated from the East (South America) or the West (Malaysia, Australia).

Modern scholars tell us that more than 15,000 years ago we lived on the land now called China, and travelled via Taiwan, the Philippines to Indonesia around 6,000 to 9,000 years ago. Movement continued through Melanesia and reached Fiji about 3,500 years ago. The journey proceeded onto Samoa and the Marquesas 2,500 years ago. Our Ancestors detoured south West to Tahiti, via the Cook Islands, journeying to Aotearoa, New Zealand their final resting place.

RE: What has everyone been up too?

Been quite lot of activity in my attic today as I've been observing thoughts. However also I considered the following thoughts:

Former Prime Minister Olmert has one way or another relation with (in) Australia.
Olmert was instrumental in obtaining a non violence (Ahimsa) agreement between Israel, Hezbollah and the West Bank Palestinians which was implemented (they all came together and ceased killings) up until America raised loose allegations and Benjamin Netanyahu the now PM, had Olmert charged and eventually went on and broke the peace agreement....

Isrealie Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert was a longtime fixture in Israel's hawkish right wing when he began taking a dramatically more conciliatory line toward the Palestinians as deputy prime minister a decade ago. He played a leading role in Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip in 2005.

correction
first image in last post was taken using a 14-42mm lens with old camera next two taken with me old faithful 75-300mm lens on new camera

Marboulius picture-took thread

Updated camera firmware (couldn't be reversed) stuffed 75-300mm lens ability to focus on distant objects as the olympus update was it appears for new type of lens. Took a bit of thinking through, brought new camera conditional on installed older update, have new type lens in transit for old updated camera and these first three images taken with old lens on new camera:

RE: Should women go to war ?

no keep them out of harms way because without replacements armies cannot sustain long conflicts.

WW2 was really just a very short war, 1939 to 1945, while Korea it can be said is ongoing.
The French attempted to impose there crap on Vietnam for well over 100 years and failed, they failed because the Vietnamese sustained resistance for all that time. They fought to rid themselves of a foreign devil attempting to impose upon there beliefs.
Even the later so called Vietnam War, went from 1954 up until 1975 when the last American troops were killed in the conflict, they sustained that to.

Woman give birth to the fools (Like I) that fight wars and an important aspect of warfare, that what i was attempting to convey

RE: Should women go to war ?

na women are essential to every countries defence forces to breed replacements, no country can sustain any long conflicts without replacing casualties.

So NO in general woman should not be conscripted they need to be in an environment so they can breed

Getting line honors isn't the end and b-all of the race results, the winner wins based on handicap count.
Smaller boats on handicap likely be the over all winner... tongue money don't buy everythingscold

no Wild Oats i think holds fastest trip, here is page with race stats on it

Comanche still may not get line honers, though probably will Rambler may yet over take it and or slight chance AU Ragamuffin 100 could beat both of them to the line, ever so slight outside chance that could occur so don't count the chickens yet matelaugh

ha ha ha, oh well

With 150 miles to go Comanche is almost 16 miles ahead of Rambler, while any potential challenge from the last standing Australian supermaxi Ragamuffin 100 appears to have evaporated with the morning mist. She trails Rambler by 34 miles, unable to take anything out of the wounded Americans overnight.

RE: La Nino

they can't operate in the forest once fire ban has been declared, likewise in Vic you can't bale hay or operate a tractor, welder once a ban for your area has been declared. But varies State to State

The consequences of an escaped fire can include loss of life and property. Penalties for inappropriate, negligent or reckless use of fire or equipment can be severe, including fines or imprisonment. Fire restrictions are actively enforced.

Fire restrictions are used to prevent bushfires. They apply to activities that may cause bushfire. Fire restrictions become more strict when the danger of bushfire increases.

Includes
(welding, grinding, apiary, catering, entertainment machinery, engines, chainsaws, motor-driven pumps, sawmilling, quarrying).

To find out what restrictions apply to you, see:

NSW

Total Fire Ban rules
No fires during a Total Fire BanA total fire ban means no fires out in the open. A total fire ban helps limit the potential of fires developing.
During a Total Fire Ban you cannot light, maintain or use a fire in the open, or to carry out any activity in the open that causes, or is likely to cause, a fire.
No general purpose hot works, such as welding or gas cutting can be done in the open.
The NSW RFS strongly recommends you reconsider activities such as such using a tractor or slashing, to help reduce the chance of a fire starting on your property. Under certain conditions, the NSW RFS may issue a Cease Harvest request.

SA

The following are for restrictions during the Fire Danger Season and on Total Fire Ban days. To find out what restrictions are in place in your area outside of these times, contact your local council.

QLD

Local Fire Bans are normally imposed over an entire local government area and prohibit the lighting of all or only certain types of fires, depending on the severity of the emergency. (Gas and electric barbecues may be used).

When fire bans are in place either as a local Fire Ban or during a State of Fire Emergency:

The lighting of fires in the declared fire ban areas are prohibited subject to any special conditions or exemptions
All open fires are prohibited;
All Permits to Light Fire issued in the designated area are cancelled.
Other special conditions (or exemptions) may be imposed.

And PS

Moriori were murdered in 1780 by a bunch of Taranaki Maori in the Chatham Islands, it is Australian History as NZ was at that time, and further as Prime Minister Helen Clark formally sort NZ join the Constitution of Commonwealth of Australia while even though clown John Howard placed himself above our Constitution, New Zealand was and is in keeping with The Australian Constitution Act at formation, an Original State of Australia today
