OK ok.....uncle.....yes you are right again damn-it .........California is the largest textbook publisher with Texas a close second ........but now Calif lawmakers are concerned that the new Texas changes will easily overlap into all schools ....and they're working on a bill to prevent it aparently..... regardless of that ..........it's still very arrogant and unethical for Texas to have proposed what they have ...and it'll be interesting if it passes their public review period
I just wrote the Texas board memebers .....with the help of one of them ( D ) ......here's what I said;
Dear Members of the Board,
I wish to voice my opinion regarding your recent proposed amendments to children’s textbooks.
Your decisions to alter history towards a conservative view in children’s textbooks has struck a deep chord within many Americans – especially at a time when this country suffers deep division both politically and morally. This decision serves to further enhance this division.
It is absolutely absurd that a committee whom the public trusts to make impartial decisions for the future of our children – instead takes pleasure in purposely altering children’s learning to skew them politically. Your proposed changes are both unethical and immoral at best !
I have suggested to your commissioner that he find an independent review committee to review your history alterations and amend them to provide ALL aspects of historical events. This will allow our children to read America’s unbiased history and fashion their beliefs without your political and unethical influence.
Furthermore, I will hope to soon read that some of you have been disciplined or removed from your service as educational board members for this assassination of the public’s trust.
