Yes Samora, my mom was a very special lady too. She taught us kids very well. She always pushed me to be all I could. She never let me quit anything. She co-signed for my first car, which I paid off fully, never even needing anything from her to do it. She came to all my school functions. When my step-father was working out of state, she & I would go out together. I know she was very proud of me.. not just by her telling me, but by the way she always wanted me with her when she went places. And how she would brag about me to her friends. I miss her deeply.
Thank you all. You're so kind! I'm going to see if I can get off of work early tomorrow to go to the viewing. I'm not sure if I should go to the funeral. Yes, I was his friend... & for a brief period, somewhat more. But that never worked out & we just remained friends. I've never met his family. Do you think I should still go to the funeral?
I just got a call about 20 minutes ago. It was one of my friends calling to tell me that a very dear male friend of mine had passed away on Tuesday from a massive heart attack! This guy was probably not even in his 40s yet.
I'm just sitting here, numb. The viewing's tomorrow & the funeral's on Saturday.
Yes, when I was a little girl, living in southern Mississippi & just starting school. It was great living down there! We lived right by the beach & had friends who had a shrimp boat. We got fresh seafood & got to go on the Blessing of the Fleet each year.
We also had a ton of neighborhood kids to play with. We'd all get together & play until our moms leaned out the doors & yelled for us to come in.
RE: Who made the most difference in your life?
You're very welcome! It's nice to know I've made someone's day.
