Is there a "time" (not just one day or one incident, but an actual time) in your past that if you had the opportunity you would go back to?

Yes, when I was a little girl, living in southern Mississippi & just starting school. It was great living down there! We lived right by the beach & had friends who had a shrimp boat. We got fresh seafood & got to go on the Blessing of the Fleet each year.

We also had a ton of neighborhood kids to play with. We'd all get together & play until our moms leaned out the doors & yelled for us to come in.

What fun!! thumbs up

No. There are many times that have their good memories, but they have their bad ones, too.

The past is past, it's done and gone. I'll live in the now and carry on.

I remember the deep South decades ago when people were friendly and your word was your bond. Adventure was everywhere for a child and the simple type of pleasure was the best. Nowdays it's all about the bottom line, the buck. Population soars everywhere and serenity is a journey you take to find. It used to just be peaceful and serene without effort.

I would go back to the day before my Grandma died, the last time I saw her. I would tell her how much I loved her and hugged her so tight so she couldn't leave. sigh

Like someone said, the past is the past and i understand that...and really i do continue to make wonderful memories now...but...

Just after my kids were born i was a stay at home mom, we had a little tiny "war home" (no basement, no upstairs etc etc) I had a million flowers it seemed and i would dress the kids after breakfast and go out and "garden" and cut fresh flowers for the house...stuff like that...it was just a very peaceful and contented time in my life....

It's a blessing that you had a time like that in your life. I have none that have been all peaceful with no troubles...I am creating that now.

Thanks Druid....you know there are times i can still hear the cicadas and smell those flowers on those summer mornings i was outside with the kids....and the sound of my children laughing

And to think that it ended in separation and divorce, bitter quarrels, and the heart wrenching sound of my children crying....
