I live in the western world, which has different standards from the third world. Doesn´t mean to say I don´t have compassion for those who are born in a less fortunate environment than me. I can do very little about their plight, but would donate what I could. However, we were talking about those in dire circumstances, i.e. earthquakes or floods. This is taken care of by our famous care takers, i.e. Red Cross, etc. to which I donate, what more do you want?????? This person has denigrated the goodness in me, which I find offensive.
I am neither rich nor materialistic and I donate regularly. I would also give what was needed to victims of disaster, but certainly not all my belongings, and especially not a fridge!!!!
By the way, these victims are trapped in a very cold area..........excuse me.........why would you NEED a fridge then??????? My childhood was spent in Scotland where it was pretty cold.........and we NEVER had a fridge.
How do you give most of your belongings to earth quake victims if you live thousands of miles away?????????? And how does giving a fridge away help them?????????
