RE: Smokers vs non smokers

I am a non smoker but I dated two guys who used to smoke.....but now I am more picky and if someone is a smoker it does put me off.

Also, I look at it from a health and personal character's point of view. I mean smokers knowing what smoking does to them yet still do it...to me it is a sign of weakness and ignorance and even selfishness....as partners of smokers will have times when they cop the second hand smoke at times as well. Not to mention, possibly having to deal with their smoking partners' future health related problems, and possibly watching them suffer and even die due to lung cancer. Plus let's not forget the type of example they show their kids.....if parent smokes, child may be influenced as well.

So no, I could no longer be with or date someone who smokes!

Thinking about moving to Canada!

I am not sure where exactly my relatives are. I will have to contact my father back in Hungary as, he got second cousins there in Canada, so he will be able to possibly get me in touch with them. By the way, thank you for the well wishing :) You Canadian people seem very kind :)

Thank you for that :) I am doing a bachelor degree in public health with a health promotion major. I am trying to become a health promotion officer. What is the health industry like over there?

Getting close to giving up on finding love :(

Thank you all for the kind and supportive words :0) It is nice to see that there are real people like you all are out there :0) Definitely gives me hope, and of course (even though I feel a bit like giving up at the moment)I won't give up. I guess, I just got to believe that when the time is right, things will fall into place and that love will find me. I am generally a happy, bubbly and positive person, but I am only human and I have my bad days as well. I just wish finding the right person to settle down with would be a bit easier and more straight forward. But as one of you said, just got to be patient, so I will wait patiently and hope that soon the right person will come my way :) I am turning 30 this year and I am definitely ready to settle down and start a family!

I agree it shouldn't be about looks either, but lot of times it feels like a lot of guys judge by the looks. I am not perfect either, I do have about an extra 20kgs that I am trying to lose at the moment, cause I feel that if I am not slim and sporty looking, no one will consider me (perhaps this is not true, it just feels that way). I am a caring, honest and affectionate person and to me someone's personality and the connection is the most important, and I just wish I could find someone who would look at things from the same non-superficial angle.

I am new on here and just saying hi :0)

Thank you for all the welcoming ;) hugs to all ;)

Thinking about moving to Canada!

Thank you all for the information! I only speak English and Hungarian so I would probably not do so well in the more French dominated parts. I have some relatives that I never met, who own a cafe around British Columbia, so might try and get in touch with them somehow. Halifax sounds like a great place :) All the feedback from you all makes me just want to go there right now :0)
It sounds like a great country! And I do miss the snow and white christmas (since being from eastern europe, I am used to the minus temperatures)! I would love to try skiing and snowboarding and all the other winter fun activites Canada has to offer :)

If I was living there I would definitely get into watching hockey, I never followed the sport before but it looks interesting :)

Thank you all again for the information :) muchly appreciated :)

Thinking about moving to Canada!

Hello beautiful people :)

I am a Hungarian born young woman but been living in QLD, Australia for the past 16 years of my life. Australia is an awesome place, however, I really don't enjoy the hot and humid weather here. I am more of a cold climate person and therefore I am considering possibly to move to Canada at the end of next year, one I finish my university degree here.

Just basically wanted to know what is life like in Canada. Cost of living per week, job opportunities, people, culture, recommended areas to possibly live....plus I would like to make some friends there so in case I do end up moving there, at least I won't be in the "I don't know anyone boat".

Cheers :)

Why is it that people you like don't like you back the same way, but the ones who like you, you don't feel the same way about them!!! So frustrating!
