Ok I didn't expect so many replies, thank you all for taking the time! I'll reply to some points that were made.
1. My pictures have me wearing sunglasses because there's not really any pictures of me where I'm not wearing sunnies (and it doesn't help that there's not many pictures taken either :P) - I'll find some and put them up anyway, but they will be old.
2. I don't own the plane - so it's hardly showing off my assets. That was at the Avalon Airshow on the trade day (thank you aviation related study). I do own the bike though ;)
3. I know I'm young... but I struggle. I have no idea why but it just seems impossible for me to meet someone. Even when I go out with mates nothing ever happens. I'm über shy.
4. Will try to cut down the length of my messages I guess - not that I found them overly long in the first place :P
I'm sorry if I forgot anything that was mentioned. I think I got it though.
PS - those who made point 1 go check out the pictures again :)
When I see a profile of someone who appeals to me, I'd send them a message and tell them about myself and ask them questions about what they provide in their profile (with me thinking this would engage conversation & eliminate that I'm not a scammer & show that I am genuinely interested). Often I get NO message back (even though they have opened the message and looked at my profile - you can check that...) and if I'm lucky I'd get one message back, after which I wouldn't get any more replies.
Maybe it's just me, maybe it's the people [in my age bracket] on this website who don't appreciate this, but I'm absolutely clueless.
If you have any advice, maybe how you personally engage in your conversations with others, I'd appreciate it.
Ohh and no I don't ask for an e-mail or their name (or say my name) straight away.
RE: Meeting someone at a pub vs an online date, which do you prefer?
Most probable for me would be at a friends party/function I think.
