I would imagine that their are people haunted by the past who have wounds to heal then again I would imagine that their are people as you say that have just had their ego blown out of the water.
If you read the statement the final words are "to a point that you no longer want to know them." Therefore what you suggested I left out is not an issue.
I would say humor because no matter how good looking a person is if they are a dull as watching paint dry then life is going to get boring really quickly.
So long as a meeting took place in a public place during daytime I do not see there being a problem. Certain cautions should always be observed for example never put yourself in a position where you may be vulnerable like getting into a car, a lift or a place where you are isolated.
I said I had had a date not that I had not found my match.... still looking for that. There are some wonderful people on this site, it is just a case of finding that wonderful person for me.
This the best site the people are more active as everything is free, finding a date locally is not easy but have managed one despite where I live. I have made many friends to whom I chat too on a daily basis. Luck to you.
Having thought about what you said I cannot ever remember putting any of my previous partners in a position where they would feel vulnerable. For the last 20 years I have only had eyes for the person with whom I was with therefore I have only come to realize that women feel vulnerable now that I encounter other people
@bodecia You make a good point which raises the subject of an age old complaint made by women who say their partner, husband, boyfriend etc never tells them he loves them.
@venere08 Obviously I generalised in what I had to say, of course there are people like yourself who speak their mind and readily show their feelings, generally speaking (again) I would have thought some men find that frightening in a woman... Have you encountered this?
