I have had homeless people in my home and fed them. My ex-husband and I use to own a furniture installation business and when we had larger jobs we would go to the homeless shelter and hire those with construction skills. They worked hard and seemed thankful for the chance go be productive and earn the money.
I find my peace through solitude...comfort music and writing it down in my journal. Family and friends are great but everyone just wants to fix it for you...I like to figure things out and fix them myself.
Cuneo, Italy becuase that is where my family is from... Greece becuase it is surrounded by water Australia (a man with an Australian accent makes me weak in the knees)
Gotta love them...my son is eight and it is something we can enjoy together. Open Season was hilarious but I also liked Wallace and Grommit - a different type of humor but very funny
This thread asked the questions "Has the virtue of integrity been lost in our generation? Do people really know what integrity is?"
As I said - only WE know within ourselves if WE live with integrity. I also believe that for the most part, people try to live their lives with inegrity. And there are also those who choose not to. Again, not a judgement but a fact.
It is great to see so many constructive and intelligent comments here. It says something about the caliber of people on CS. I offer one last comment -
Honesty is one synonym for integrity. Either you are honest or you are not, there is no judgement in that only fact. Are there degrees in honesty? Many would say yes. A little white lie to spare someones feelings is acceptable to most of us and probably doesn't mean you don't have integrity. But, many might consider a dishonesty that is elaborate and planned and deliberate, a lie about something serious or life-treatening, not acceptable and without integrity.
We each know within our own hearts if we live with honesty and integrity and there is no way to run from that. We may be able to hide things from those near to us but eventually living without honesty and integrity will catch up with us. Those who do live with honesty and integrity - and stand by that no matter what others think of them - are left open to experience the good things in life.
As I browse through these forums - and as I live life - I see where so many have suffered in some way becuase someone in our lives didn't value integrity.
Has the virtue of integrity been lost in our generation? Do people really know what integrity is?
