The Swan

The Swan

There are things that I cannot change,
Others that I can and perhaps should.

But in the vision of the future,
I see the past that haunts me still.

The pond where the swan once was,
Is but a memory. Not even the grass
Or pure clear water endures.
But stone, cold hard rock.

And yet my love is not that pond,
Or the grass, or the rock.

But a swan that has sought to find
Another world, another life,
Trying to forget the pain of its loss.

But never resting until it knows itself,
And rests again in that warmth,
Of a peaceful spring’s day.

Surrounded by the laughs of children,
And the simplicity of bread.
It searches for its love Eternal.

SENSUAL DISSONANCE

You may b blind but can see,
You may be deaf but listen too,
You may not walk but are swift in thought,
You may not touch me but you can feel me,
You may not fully understand but still pursue.

For the memory of time is short,
the waves of life so finite.
No sense eternal or impermanent.
No idea exists outside your universe.

There are times you call my name,
and charm me with your femininity.
But your face is unknown to me.
I wish I could just be there where you are
but yet I am here and now feeling,
the weight of my life as I know
I need to persevere in my mission

To make manifest the love within
That will survive history and free
the world from its hidden chains
to hold and embrace you once again
I am prepared to die, my love

Love's confession

An emptiness sometimes fills our sky,
And lingers on to darken our day.
Then there is that hope, that sign,
From heaven. Call it love, call it God.

We forget in our moments of anguish,
How much we suffered to get here.
But then, forget, ourselves again
Again and again. The meaning of it all,
Is suddenly obscured.

Until we meet again, yes, we do,
That simple joy of children.
That innocent voice inside which begs
And begs to love. Forever.

It gives itself, no worry for what was.
No concern for what the future.
For it seeks to express love,
And no thing can kill that, can it?

It dreams of many things.
No more tears of pain and anguish.
No more cries in face of war and death.
No more broken hearts and promises.
No more!

But the prospect of an eternity
It is life and passion,
It is hope and dreams,
But it is also you.

RE: Influenced By Your Environment

Definitely. Whether we like it or not, the environment plays a crucial part in who we are.

In the West, dependence on electricity and water means that we cannot work or function without them (the majority of us at least).

Our society, if we are not provided with democratic systems or a degree of choice in how we live our life then we are obviously hampered by our social environment.

On an ecological level, the more pollutants we throw in our environment will affect our health and quality of life for us and for the future generations.

The way our physical and cultural structures - also part of the environment - might restrict the choices of others to assert their choices.

The environment we are living in has for many centuries been our own product and inasmuch as we influence it, it has a much larger influence on us.

Hope nobody has a headache now wink

Scribbles of love

Can I speak of love?
Can I be in love?
Is love to be written down?
Is love containable in this reality?
How do I find love?

Love can be spoken about, yes,
But can never be seduced.

We can only be in love when our hearts
And when our minds are open enough
To say I love you, yes!

You can write love down, but you cannot grasp,
The extent of its infinity, its emotion and passion,
Is beyond words and is beyond art.

For it reaches out from beyond the universe,
Flowing through your inner being to the outside world.
You cannot find what you already have
Within. That burning life force of your soul.

That rekindls your joy in life, the pursuit of colour
Sound. The touch that wakes you up each day
As the miracle of everyday unfolds.

So no, you cannot expect to find it. You must only close your
Eyes, look into yourself. Open your heart.

And say yes to love.
For it is there.

Hidden away in childlike wonder.
That has no language and no memory.
No time to it. And as you feel the change.
Say yes to it. For love is.

RE: He/She would love you because

I do not force her to love me,

that I can be playful and funny,

but that I can also be dead serious.

That I can be passionate for life,

that I can be full of ideas and of energy,

yet sometimes just need a clear space and time
to think

But most imortantly, she shouldn't love me just because I say so,
but because she knows i love her.

And respect her in night or day,
in happy and sad times.

In suffering and pleasure I have been through,
I'll be there for her too.

The balloon game

Since everyone seems to have given up on this sigh

Here's the solution.

1. Strategies to outdo your opponents by bursting their ballon...

well, whilst effective they mean that you have to be in constant vigilance for each other balloon keeper as he or she will be a potential threat. you'll end up either paranoid or very frustrated frustrated

THAT'S THE SOLUTION BASED ON COMPETITION! very mad

2. What if you decide not to burst any balloon and make peace with everyone else peace In that way, by the end of the game, everyone will have his or her balloon intact cool so no puff of air or balloon is lost.

That on the other hand is the solution based on COOPERATION... and although it's not we understand by winning at first, it surely is a preferable way of living life .. professor

RE: The League of Extraordinary CS Superheroes...

Do you have to be blatantly brave or bravely blatant?

rolling on the floor laughing

I'm not brave, I just do my best to survive a day each time.

The balloon game

No one wants to attempt another try? It's no that fifficult really if you think about it... wink

I'll reveal everything if no comes with an answer by tomorrow ... wave

The balloon game

Every player has a balloon tied to his or her foot.

The winner is who ends up with an intact balloon by the end of the game.

Hope that's clerer... peace

The balloon game

Apart from injuring or killing the other person(s), all moves are allowed.

If you had just 24 hours to live ...

This is just a hypothetical scenario ... suspension of disbelief very much required peace

The balloon game

Here's the picture. Every one of you has a balloon tied to his/ her foot or whatever and the only instruction you have is that by the end of a few minutes the winner will be who has his or her balloon intact.

The question is simple, how would you go about winning?

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

If you had just 24 hours to live ...

... what would you do?

And no, you don't have a fortune or all the resources at your disposal. It's just humble you as you are now cool

So what would you do? professor

I'm fishing for ideas here. And some values you might have about the now...

RE: Who is responsible?

I agree. Everyone had a play to play for the conclusion to happen. However, the fact is that in reality no one could actually have control over the event. It's like a domino effect. If one domino falls usually only little damage is done, but if the dominoes are placed in a particular order they lead to catastrophe. professor

RE: Everyone here wants.....

And what's wrong with that? confused

RE: SANTA....................

Incidentally, even Scrooge turns good by the end of "The Christmas Carol" which does seem that we've got two happy endings after all.

sigh

On the subject of whether children beilieve in him or not it depends on children. I think that there are some children who genuinely believe in his existence.

The question i whether it's good or not to keep telling children a lie to maintain a 'christmas spirit' atmosphere... after all why we should be building up children's expectations on falsehoods?

;dunno

But perhaps it's a matter of opinion here. It's funny how many paradoxes Santa conjures. But he is very much liked by the businesspeople for obvious reasons frustrated professor

RE: Incoming Message from:

I've had this woman telling me that she liked my profile ... and at first I saw what will come next.

It turns out that by the third message she was asking to book her a flight to come over. I know I'm irresistible wink but come on?

She also put in a heartbreaking story to try to convince me. But even if there's always a chance that it's true, you cannot pretend to love me after the third CS message or can you sigh

Just one word of advice ... NEVER reveal your email address unless you've done a good check. And if you have to, you may always create one just to be safe. cool

RE: Why people judge others based only in their appearance?

Thanks for the compliments blushing

But in truth, if you didn't ask the question in the first place, I wouldn't have thought about an answer in the first place!!!

You may be right there! sigh

RE: Sorry, I Can't Accept This...

I have been pushed away so much that I'm lucky I didn't fall off. wink

The first sign that I know I'm being pushed away is that when they just shut off all communication. I do ask them what happened and all that but it has happened not to receive any answer at all.

Other times, I found people who are not OK with the fact that I use a wheelchair. So then, they either don't tell me in my face or else find excuses to dampen the truth. As if... scold

I think being rejected or rejecting another has much to do with who one is in life. I don't think that if I had been in a relationship with the person(s) I was in love with I would have been fulfilled as a person and grown as much as I did. But on second thoughts I just don't know Hope this makes a bit of sense peace

some of my thoughts before I sleep...

Before I dose off today (it's 10pm here) I wanted to share a tiny reflection on what life has offered me so far.

Even if there were rough times in the past, I know that there will be a day when I'll look back and say that it was worth the fighting.

I was close to despair many a night when I felt alone and misunderstood by others. I have a life and do meet people every day but I guess there is still that person missing that I have to find. And that's not simply the girl of my dreams but perhaps she is any person that can shine a light through my darkness or inspire me to go on.

I can only say that I do come here more often than I did and realise that this virtual community thrives with warmth and friendships. Some may be real, some not... but I feel that I am being changed both through my actual real life now and also through what I get here.

I guess all we want to do is to reach out and proclaim to others that we're alive and we're worth it!!! things that we often overlook and downplay when we feel alone.

I know that I felt powerless myself in many ways over the years but I want to get to know more and more people as I grow older and remind myself that every time I get to know about someone else, I also get to know more about myself...

So wherever or whoever you are, I can only say that we are NOT alone! Now off to bed...

love

RE: I been given a Christmas gift...no replies needed

I'm happy for you! I've been using life experience as a teaching tool for about three years ago to raise awareness about the dynamics involved in creating 'disability'.

It's always a positive experience and the old saying here applies more and more in this context .. it feels better to give than to receive.. and believe me when you're imparting part of yourself to others to make a change in their life or outlook, you will learn from yourself as well!

It's an experience worth taking and wish you luck and satisfaction!!!

hug

RE: Why people judge others based only in their appearance?

OK. But remember, we cannot forget that this won't apply if you're blind. In that case, voice and way of speaking will be what is understood by 'appearance'!!!

A LESSON IN HUMAN NATURE

We have a winner! applause

The story is fraught with a major inconsistencies. The fact that it's written down also increases its 'credibility' to us. However, until now the 'truth' of the account was not questioned.

Another thing to consider is that although the facts didn't add up from the beginning, there have been many interesting interpretations of what might have happened verging from social changesto downright imagination.

The aspects of human nature that come out from the reaction here are mainly two:

1. that we place great trust in what is written (symbolic meaning)
2. we try to fit our view on the world on the accounts we get from others
3. we may not put into question or consider the implications of some facts...

So the winner gets a virtual hug and a handshake
