Granted that my late mother's estate is not a 'usual', straightforward case, as her will is essentially divided into 2 instructions. 1stly the property is to be sold and the money distributed between myself and my 5 older siblings. The money from her bank accounts is to go between the 6 of us plus 2 of her grandsons, and this is the easier component because the Grant of Administration has been obtained by the High Court, it is just a matter of keeping money aside to make the property presentable for auction (garden rubbish, old sheds etc). The person who has been liaising with the family over all this has made assurances that end up on the cutting room floor and there seems to be a 'tell em anything' mentality. My siblings and I are all very frustrated, as some of them are aged pensioners themselves
One of my most noteable stupid things was about 30 years ago when I strained boiling hot cookinc oil into the sink...through a nylon strainer and ended up with just the handle I was holding of the strainer ....well it was probably 2 stupid things in 1 because all the oil poured down the sink
