Thanks LisaJane and Jacko for the good luck wishes.
So far, so good! I'm on training hours for the next week or two, so I'll be able to make the meet no problem. I'll only be able to stay for a few hours though, as I'll have work the next day.
I'm going to try and get to this meet, but I'll have to see about work. I start a new job tomorrow, so I'll have to cross my fingers, and hope that they give me a nice shift on the 2nd of August.
I see that your thread has been visited a few times, and yet you have no replies! Anyway, with regards to the cross trainers...
You can get a good pair of trainers for no more than LM30. About two months ago, I bought a pair of Nike cross trainers from Urban Jungle for Lm25.00. They're very good for walking, reduce the impact/shock, and yet, they don't weigh as much as the running shoes, so they're great for aerobics.
As for the soles; you mentioned 'general gym and aerobics classes', so you'll need something with a good grip, or else you'll slide all over the place. I would avoid the dance/jazz shoes, they have no grip at all, which is fine for a dance class, but not for aerobics.
Oh, and another thing.. I have found that it is only worth paying for a pair of Adidas or Nike etc. shoes, as the copies work out to be a false economy. That, and sometimes the cheaper versions skimp on the ability to absorb the shocks etc.
I hope this helps you some what, but if you need anything else, just drop me a line. :)
Ah, I'm just thinking practicalities though Brunette. You see, Aqua-Cars will see you though good weather AND floods. Has to be niche in the market for them here surely!
Ahh it's quite simple... we just need to follow my friend's advice in times like this. You don't need a car.. oh no... what you need is a jet ski!!
I could have made my appointment yesterday in that case, but hey. Such is life in Malta. Sun for months, and torrential rain for 3 days or so. *prepares the wetsuit and flippers for next time*
Ohh... I've not replied to the forums before, but this has gotten my attention for sure.
Regarding the idea of euthanasia, I'm a supporter of it, but only in the cases where people suffer great pain due to conditions, disorders and so on. It's certainly something that needs to be carefully monitored so that it is not abused however.
You know what annoys me though?? Dogs and cats etc. get better treatment in their last days compared to humans! If you refuse to have a pet put to sleep, you can (in theory) be prosecuted, and yet it's ok to apply such principles to humans. Go figure!
