The greatest nightmare of any modern military army is an armed partisan force which overwhelmingly outnumbers the opposing professional troops and is also familiar with the local terrain.
That is the REAL reason that the 2nd Amendment to our Constitution exists.
It can and does happen. I fell in love with someone 5,000mi away in precisely that way; we both had cams at various places in our houses going 24/7, until we could finally meet. We moved in together for nearly 2 years, and fell apart mostly because of remote family pressures & issues.
The problem with asking someone if they believe in God is that they naturally assume you are referring to their idea/perception of a supreme being. It is also highly likely (for most people making the query) that they are actually asking "Do you believe in my God?". The concept or identity(ies) of God (or Gods/Goddesses) is not only unique according to each religious faith, but also for the millions who are free Deists, accepting the existence of a creator/supreme being based on their individual philosophies.
I've found that, through experience, the two very things (politics & religion) which we are all commonly warned against discussing with a date, are two of the major issues affecting compatibility. This does not make a lot of sense to me, so they are the first two things I get out into the open. If you don't agree with someone on these issues (as well as several others), then, believe me, your relationship is going to suck.
