I've found that, through experience, the two very things (politics & religion) which we are all commonly warned against discussing with a date, are two of the major issues affecting compatibility. This does not make a lot of sense to me, so they are the first two things I get out into the open. If you don't agree with someone on these issues (as well as several others), then, believe me, your relationship is going to suck.

I don't think it is, because they would not consider dating in the first place! When it becomes a problem, I think its more that one of the two are looking for a lame excuse to get out! Just get out, don't make excuses! People complicate it, its suppose to be unconditional compromising love!

yes, religion is an important consideration to me. if he is religious, i'm not usually interested. i prefer 'spiritual' rather than religious dogma. i also prefer independent thinkers.

But that´s probably where the unhappiness arises........they don´t give enough thought to the commitment. The "love" requires nourishment throughout the couple´s lives, so maybe if they thought about the religious connotation they might put a bit more effort in when things start to go wrong.

Buddhist, Jews, Hindu, Islam, Christian, Catholic...ect....sometimes just a label !!! I never blame religion !!! No religion teach evil things !!! But, religion can't guarantee people's behaviour !!!

I am sorry lady but i am an Atheist for this specific reason. No imaginary, invisible thing that hungs from the sky will tell me what to do in my life.people has the right to accept it or not

Well when you say don't bring religion into this - why did you mention 4 wives (Islamic tradition) - why not 5 or 6? If its your beleive that its right thing to do, then state it boldly. I felt that your covertly expressing your opinion here.
