Tried to create and post some unique and different threads on here that I THOUGHT might be of some interest and most of them have fizzled right out. Oh well, sorry ppl. I tried
Can you make a decent income online just by blogging?
Yes, absolutely. At the very least, a high five-figure annual income is certainly an attainable goal for an individual working full-time from home. I’m making enough income from this blog right now to pay my bills and put food on my table with a little extra money left over to spare, and this blog is not very old… in fact it is just in it's beginning stages. If you have a day job, it will take longer to generate a livable income, but it can still be done part-time if you’re willing to devote a lot of your spare time to it. I’ve always done it full-time.
Create a blog and choose your topic, but make sure it isn’t too small
I use eblogger but I am sure there are many other blog sites out there.
Pick a topic for your blog where you have some significant expertise. For instance my fields of expertise are spirituality, change, self improvement and positive thinking. These topics of have a broad appeal. Potentially most people are interested in improving themselves, and I am quite passionate about creating and posting articles about these topics. Everything is related to self improvement.
Pick a topic that you’re passionate about. I’ve made a few posts so far and I’m just getting started. I chose to build a self improvement blog because I’m very knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate about this subject. I couldn’t imagine a better topic for me to write about.
Make it clear to your visitors what your blog is about. Often I visit a blog with a clever title and tagline that reveals nothing about the site’s contents. In that case I generally assume it’s just a personal journal and move on. I love to be clever too, but I’ve found that clarity usually yields better results than cleverness.
Add multiple streams of income
You don’t need to put all your eggs in one basket. Think multiple streams of income. On this blog I actually have 2 different streams of income.
Here’s a list:
1. Donations (via PayPal or snail mail — yes, some people do mail a check. 2.Google Adsense ads (pay per click and pay per impression advertising)
My biggest income stream is actually donations. My average donation right now has been around $5, but I’ve received a number of $100 donations from other blogs I have created. It only took me about an hour to set this up via PayPal. So even if your content is free like mine, give your visitors a means to voluntarily contribute if they wish. It’s win-win. I’m very grateful for the visitor support. It’s a nice form of feedback too, since I notice that certain posts have produced a surge in donations — this tells me I’m hitting the mark and giving people genuine value.
Adsense is my second biggest source of income.. Right now, it is generating around $100/month. That will grow as this blog gets seen more.
That is pretty much it! Next step is to email your family and friends about your blog. Submit your blog to search engines such as google and yahoo. Use free ad blasters about your blog and advertise it on traffic exchanges. Add your blog link to the signature of your outgoing emails. Get your blog noticed. If your content is good, news about your blog will spread fast.
You can reasonably expect that when you begin commercializing a free blog, some people will complain, depending on how you do it. It's really no big deal though, you are not going to be able to please everybody. There is always a critic out there who has nothing better to do than to try to discredit your blog. Truth of the matter is less than 1 in 5,000 visitors will actually send negative feedback. Most people who send feedback will be surprisingly supportive. Most of the complaints will die off within a few weeks, and your blog should begin to generate income almost immediately, although the going will be pretty slow — especially during the first few months.
First, fix it in your mind the exact goal you desire. It is not enough to simply say "I desire a lot of money". Be specific as to the exact amout. (There is a reason for this)
Second, determine exactly what you intend to give in return for achieving this goal. (example: say a service) There is no such thing as getting "something for nothing"
Third, establish a definite date that you intend to have achieved this goal by.
Fourth, create a plan for achieving your desire, and begin at once to put your plan into action. (Note: your plan does not have to be exact, as you will no doubt change it from time to time along the way. The important thing is to ACT upon the plan you come up with right away. This way you are actually doing SOMETHING to achieve your goal.)
Fifth, write out a statement containing the exact amount of money (or whatever it is) you intend to acquire, include the date by which you intend to acquire your goal by, what you intend to give in return for achieving your goal, and write out the plan you intend to use to reach your goal. Be as clear and specific as possible.
Sixth, read your written statement out loud twice a day, once in the morning and once just before you go to bed. As you read try to picture yourself as already having achieved your goal.
Follow these 6 steps exactly as I have written them. If you TRULY desire your goal. You will have no difficulty convincing your subconscious mind to accept your goal and thus bring it forth into manifestation.
Taken from my own blog this morning - with my own permission
All I know is I must be eating right. Look at my profile. That is me without a shirt. I went from a skinny 140 lbs to a solid, muscular 180lbs now and I feel great and I am getting better with each passing day!
I've been told that REAL alcoholics have but 3 choices - we can be LOCKED up, we can SOBER up, or we can get COVERED up - I am glad you sobered up in time. Best of luck to you and yours.
Any avid bloggers in the house? If so, what is your blog about? My blog is about change, self improvement, and positive thinking. I actually make quite a bit of money with it too through donations.
I'll agree nutritional therapy is an essential part of ANY type of recovery but there is a lot more to it than that. One has to learn new coping skills, new ways of thinking and believing. One has to develope new habits to replace the old ones and so on.
See I WANTED to drink. I am ALWAYS going to WANT to drink. But drining is not a good thing for me, so I CAN'T drink no more and I found a way to quit.
However, experience has taught me that there is a big difference between not drinking and being sober. I know many people who do not drink anymore and are just pure miserable and unhappy inside.
I'm learning how to LIVE sober now and how to be HAPPY about it and comfortable in my own skin. No amount of nutrition can teach me that.
I can only speak from my own experiences here, but I tried other methods of quitting drinking like nutritional therapy, hypnosis, acupuncture, ect. NONE of them worked.
It was when it finally dawned on me that I can't stay sober on the basis of willpower and self knowledge alone that I got the help I needed.
Truth of the matter is that I as an alcoholic have no effective physical or mental defense against taking the first drimk.
Best thing I can do is don't drink, go to meetings, work the steps, pray, and help others one day at a time and so far that has worked for me.
I USED to drink like a fish. Morning, noon, and night. I practically lived with a bottle of budwesier in my hand. It was all I knew. It cost me jobs, friends, family, I cared but I could not stop.
I had to go to A.A. I learned that I not only had a drinking problem, but I had a ME problem as well. I also take vitamins and drink lots of water now. I exercise now too. My body is fit and strong.
But as I said when I began this thread, the hardest thing about quiting drinking is detoxing. Those shakes were very annoying.
Now a days, I share my experience, strenght and hope with people and often will go out of my way to help others in ANY way I can.
I own a cat and love her dearly, but I found what you wrote to be soooo funny I'm laughing so hard I got tears in my eyes Thank you for starting my day off with a smile
First, I know that I have the ability to achieve the object of my Definite Purpose in life, therefore, I DEMAND of myself persistent, continous action towards its attainment, and I here and now promise to render such action.
Second, I realize the dominating thoughts of my mind will eventually reproduce themselves in outward, physical action, and gradually transform themselves into physical reality, there - fore, I will concentrate my thoughts for thirty minutes daily, upon the task of thinking of the person I intend to become, thereby creating in my mind a clear mental picture of that person.
Third, I know through the principle of auto-suggestion, any desire that I persistently hold in my mind wil eventually seek expression through some practical means of attaining the object back of it, therefore, I will devote ten minutes daily to demanding of myself the development of SELF-CONFIDENCE.
Fourth, I have clearly written down a description of my DEFINITE CHIEF AIM in life, and I will never stop trying until I shall have developed sufficient self-confidence for its attainment.
Fifth, I fully realize no wealth or position can long endure, unless built upon truth and justice, therefore, I will engage in no transaction which does not benefit all whom it affects. I will succeed by attract to myself the forces I wish to use, and the cooperation of other people. I will induce others to serve me, because of my willingness to serve others. I will eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness and cynicism, by developing love for all humanity, because I know a negative attitude toward others can never bring me success. I will cause others to believe in me, because I will believe in them, and in myself.
I will type my name to this formula, commit it to memory, and repeat it out loud once a day, with full FAITH that it will gradually influence my THOUGHTS and ACTIONS so that I will become a self-reliant, and successful person.

So far I have been keeping mine. Have YOU been keeping YOURS?
I used to have quite a drinking problem. I decided to give A.A. a try and have been sober for quite some time now. My question is to those of you who quit drinking for what ever reason - what method did you use to detox with?
My sponsor suggested I drink orange juice with a tablespoon of honey in it? It worked quite well.
That happened TODAY? You said? Well for 1 I woke up this morning and 2. I am still sober. I am sure I will find more things to be greatful for as the day progresses.
Well...I have about stuck out
