Yes, we loved stopping for the little Hebrew National dogs at the little stands all over. I liked the Papaya Dog on 42nd near 12th I think it was. There was also a little diner called Theatre Row a vlock or two up from that , that is our favorite.
One thing I liked was that it is always the little retsuarants that look like dives that seem to have the best food.
There are just so many people walking about I guess you don't always notice things like the drug addicts, unless you are down in the subway, which was our usual mode of transportation. You have to be careful with folks trying to peddle money too.
There is still alot to be said, it is just too damn expensive to live right in the city, but most of the people are great. I never ran into one rude person the times I have been there, they were always very helpful.
So how do you like Long Island? I already have made it a point to visit the Bronx Zoo next trip. Got to see the Central Park Zoo, but not too much there. It was still kinda nice. What a hot day though, long walk too!
I used to be a regular on here and actaully live closer to Niagara Falls.
I decided to come back because I love the board and the folks on it,although many have gone. I look forward to meeting new people though!
I visit Manhattan every year( just went ot there in July) and love the area, would love to move out there one day ( probably not in Manhattan, unless I win the lottery, lol, one of the boroughs or NJ more likely)if I get the right job offer or meet a special guy who can twist my arm.
So how many of our CS family call NYC or Jersey their home?
Yes, I know it can be frustrating writing folks and they don't answer you. I think that is the least someone can do if they take the time to email you, just say they don't think they have much in common with you or whatever. It is ignorant to ignore people and hurtful.
That doesn't mean she is "slow" or mentally disabled though.
Actually the proper term is "developmentally disabled", my second job working on weekends is working at a group home taking care of those folks and they can actually be pretty cool.
Hey there, nice to meet you -I live up towards Niagara Falls, New York by Lake Ontario.
I am divorced and live with my teenage daughter, work fulltime am working on my second degree.
I was actually out your way a few weeks back as my daughter and I spent 4 days in Manhatten. We just love it out there, would live out there if we could, but the cost of living -geesh!!
I am like anyone else, looking for the elusive Mr Right, and having fun making all kind of friends on here. That in itself makes it worth it.
Hey Roy, I agree -I think alot of it has to do with psychology and letting life get to you. You have to learn to lean on each other, but if one leans a little too much, you can figuratively injure the other person by being too needy. It makes the other person an enabler, because you are not letting that person use their own resources and strengths. I think sometimes that people are just emotionally immatire and that causes alot of trouble in relationships. One has to learn to take disapointment a it comes, life is not always perfect, and that which does not kill us makes us stronger.
I hope all of my old freinds and all of my new ones enjoy this day with those they love.
And for goodness sake make this a SAFE one.
Please don't drink and drive.
Just thought I would throw that in there, we often forget that there will be those who throw caution to the wind and make a happy occasion a tragic one.
I am back...how many from New York City?
