Yes, I totally agree. Having given in to curiosity to check out her profile....I then spared a thought for her. If she is genuine, posting her profile was maybe, possibly, quite likely, definately, NOT....the way to go.
It's a personal choice thing. Some women keep it because there are still dependant children from the marriage. It makes life a little easier on the child if both parents have the same surname as it (the child).
Also depends on what brought about the termination of the marriage. Maybe they just drifted apart and the thought of keeping her ex's surname isn't so abhorrent as it could be to someone that went through a bad breakup.
I'm really happy for you ! I'm from the "side" that believes they can work, I've got friends and relatives that have all successfully turned LDR's into the real deal.
I've seen it not work too.
It does take as much commitment as a personal relationship. I don't see that the lack of day to day physical contact comes into it at all, so long as both parties are working towards making the relationship work.
If you have met online though ie...at a site like this, then you should make every effort to meet early on. It makes each person "real" to the other. Personally, I think LDR's need this.
