140 years ago people worked until they died, and we are going back to that - on a gold standard one could fund their own retirement with low risk, but that is no longer possible with a fiat currency system and a central bank that loves inflation...

Careful observation of the human species. Let me give you an example; every government election each political party will tell the public the biggest lies that you can imagine. Even an intellectually challenged 5 year old could see through them, but the voters go for it and elect the biggest lair. Sort of like a contest, but people like lies, but only the best ones. If men tell a woman that she is lovely, pretty and desirable, they can often get laid which conditions men to lie to women. And that's your fault not ours. Because you fall for it so often.
be careful with bank cheques, I know people who have been caught with stolen ones (blank ones, taken during armed hold ups) cash or bank transfer into your account is best imo
