Some girlfriends of mine wanted us to make up cards that said, "I think you're adorable. If you'd like please call . . . (and our phone # would go here). Their plan was for us to go to the mall and if we saw a man who caught our eye, we'd just hand him the card and walk away, waiting to see if anyone actually called. I thought it was the most stupid idea I'd ever heard of. Besides, we'd have to get in line behind all the teen Barbies who roam the mall on Saturdays passing out THEIR cards.
Anything with Bart's teacher, Ms. Krabapple. The actress who does her voice, Marcia Wallace, is an aquaintance of mine. We've had dinner together several times, and she's funny as hell. She played Bob Newhart's secretary Carol in the old Bob Newhart Show. Back when television sitcoms were actually funny.
I wanted to be pretty, so I would fit in. Never happened. Now all the pretty ones have grandkids they're having to support, and they all wish they were me.
Movies are a business. If a movie grosses $400 million worldwide, then the leading actor is certainly worth $20 million. I run a business. It's a matter of what you have to pay out to make a profit.
