I visited a celtic archaeological site in Austria. They were very good metal workers and the Romans were their best customers. The swords they made were of superior quality, which ironically helped the Romans to conquor the other celtic groups in Europe e.g. Gauls. The Austrian celts became part of the Roman Empire.
Well the way I see it there are lots of different ways that a "straight" question can be asked. Now of course this is a big subject - just look at the number of replies you've got and are you any nearer the truth?
Here are some examples of straight questions that may get an evasive answer... 1) girl: Where did you go last night? boy: The pub girl: Why? boy: Err (primeval reflex response when confronted by hostile quetioning - Note this is 100% certain if girl uses desklamp)
2) girl: Nice day outside! boy: Err (Wheres this leading to? - does she want me to cut the lawn? - but I want to continue watching the football!)
There are many others but my tips are... keep questions light hearted and friendly as much as possible and avoid asking "Why?" too much - it can be seen as aggressive. Instead word it in a different way e.g. "What was the pub like?"
