I am really sorry that you have to arrive at this decision just when some of us are about to learn from your constructive and frank contributions to this wonderful forum.
I am also very much surprised to find out that just a few people have actually asked you to reconsider your decision and stay on. Permit me, with due respect, to add my own to the positive ones: Please do reconsider your decision.
As a teacher and a seemingly well informed person, you sure do know what it takes to be a part of today’s society, “tolerance and acceptance” especially in places and on forums such as CS.
Tolerating others opinions and views, and accepting some kind of constructive criticism is what make us matured and help us walk the path of life without much worries. It is not always that easy as it sounds though, but getting involved with a forum with wide range of contributors from a variety of cultures and beliefs, one should always be prepared to encounter certain discomforts. You chose to ignore or consent to certain things.
While some of the treads on this forum may carry in it intelligence and helpful inspiring words, many are controversial, jokes and mere child’s play…adult play, if I may say, which, apart from being part of the publishing and communicating game, don’t necessary have to lead to anywhere, but simply serve why most of us frequent the forum – to consume the precious time we obviously don’t have anything to do with.
Careful observation of some of the replies to the treads have also shown that, some people would have preferred the tread postings limited to just a small, perhaps special group of people of their choice. They use tongue-twisted languages to get to others at the slightest opportunity, and often times expect to get away unnoticed.
You are one of the intelligent and constructive contributors on this forum, and your smiley face and input in thoughts make this forum even more beautiful and worth belonging to. Even if someone may have offended you somewhere, please learn to be a little more tolerant.We are not always masters of our own emotions and affections.
Besides, anyone without a sense of humor is at the mercy of everyone else.
But despise all the gloomy clouds in the sky, do not forget that the sun is and will always be in that sky.
Just like in any other case, you don’t necessary have to let the other know what you are looking for. Besides, some medicines work well on some people, they don’t always work for all.
