So why did Jesus have to purchase souls if every soul belongs to and comes from God? Because everyone has turned away and forsaken the knowledge of God. How did this happen? Source material - an enemy of God came to lead you all astray. And how willing we all were! Following the desires of our flesh.
Further application. Since every soul belongs to and comes from God then every soul is a mate. The entire human race is one family. However there are those who will never accept these truths.
Now you're getting the picture. You are not your own souls. Jesus purchased souls upon the cross so the true definition remains. A soul mate is he who seamlessly died to give you life and they are one family.
I assure you this definition is true: A soul mate is the one that will selflessly die to give you life. They are all one family.
I post this because I'm sure there are many misconceptions as to what a soul mate is and so many looking for theirs. eg: someone who knows you but can a dog know you purely an instinctive creature? No!
