RE: Country vs City

African Country !

The crickets and frogs are not loud enough.

No cars zooming past, no planes passing over.....nearest town is miles and miles way............

grin

RE: What do you do when something make you sad or down?

When I am terribly low and have no one to talk to, I often start writing my thoughts......this usually helps me release some of the pain.

Something more practical you can do anywhere, anytime, is to count your blessings - your life, your family, friends, health etc.

The glass begins to fill, and soon you have a half-filled glass.

Cheers!

RE: Country vs City

Country - ............5 Kilometers from the City

Its more beautiful and peaceful in the country, but sometimes it can be frighteningly silent

If I could, I would have the luxury of both.

RE: wot does every think of my new profile?

That was expected........it wasn't very sensitive

RE: wot does every think of my new profile?

Hello Barnabi,

My 2 cents......

If you are not black or disabled, it can be interpreted as a mockery of these segments of society.

RE: Profiles....

I take time to read the profiles before I respond......I know what I am looking for, and its not a handsome or muscular body.

However, I vote for photos purely based on how good the person looks. Its NOT a vote based on interest or approval, its purely giving credit where due............. the looks.

RE: Looking for that special love!!!!Seriously!!!

Hoping to meet a rare (perhaps dying) breed.

A loving, caring man, capable of deep conversations on multiple subjects.

A man who has the capacity to look beyond the physical!

An excellent sense of humor balanced with seriousness
("24 hour jokes" on serious issues can be unsettling i.e. juvenile)

RE: should people leave cs after finding someone???

Point1 should read the "the capacity to contribute to any naughty or meaningless thread".

RE: should people leave cs after finding someone???

Admission Criteria for inner circle

1. Beauty - Women
2. Wit and Humor - men

Behavioural Requirements

1) plus the capacity to any naughty or meaningless thread.

2) agree with the inner crowd on anything they say

3) deviate from the subject of the thread when it suits you

etc, etc, etc

RE: should people leave cs after finding someone???

I dont think all (most) of the arguing comes from people who've met their match.

Most of the arguments I have read are between comparatively "new " people trying to fit into the 'CS inner circle' and finding thier opinions dont matter.

Men and the internet

I agree this is an old fashioned view,......but to most women it is still the reality or "silent expectation".

Some women voice their willingness to intiate, but a larger majority would rather be approached. I think it will take time before it is level playing field.

A lot has been done on the work front, and the legal framework ensures that employers comply. But thats a different arena.......

Men and the internet

From the relationships I have witnessed, the woman ends up looking attractive only as a date and lover, but not for a long term relationship.

I mean, lets face it, it is not easy for a woman to walk-up to a man, compliment him, then ask him for a date.

Very few women (at least the decent ones that i know), would be this bold.

Men and the internet

Just thinking aloud.......(in writing)

Considering the following: -
- the current ratio of men to women,
- that men drive the direction of the relationship
- in most society men are expected to initiate, and thus often have have the luxury of choice.......

Do you think men who seek partners on the internet are more choosy/picky on who they relate with?

RE: Rating Pfft!

Tulips,

You are not alone........

Think of it this way, if its an auction, then the next bid should be higher, and it will continue to increase until you get the highest bid.....

And the highest bidder may not necessarily be a member of this site......or he has probably not become a member yet!
grin

RE: Rating Pfft!

Thanks gentle,

I am comfortable though with whats meted out.

Its democratic!::wine:

RE: Rating Pfft!

My ratings are all low, below 6

But I am fine with them coz they give you a good reality check..... on the limited opportunities you have.

So you adjust your expectations and shift your focus on other more rewarding areas of life.

RE: Fundamentalists, Communists and so called Intellectuals against Bush!

Well said.

My view exactly!

thumbs up

RE: Good true story, with a GREAT motto

I never heard this story before

I like the moral!

Thanks for sharing, I am sure I will use this somewhere.

thumbs up

RE: French Military Unveils New Weapon:‘AIR’ TANKS

France's latest powerful weapon is Sarkozy.

He has what it takesto bring about surrender - intelligence, power, energy, the acent and incredible drive

Enough to make many women drop their guns (guards)

grin

RE: warning for women

Paddy, Thanks.

Ulimaroa I meant "my contribution".....not thread.

Heinz wants to delete contact with people from Russia and Africa, but we can still communicate with him through these threads.

We can send him "love notes", ask him for money, steal his ID etc. Ha Ha

RE: warning for women

Everyone has and is entitled to a bias.

Its a pity you cant delete my thread.

Clearly I can't convince, your minds are fixed......so, .....I rest my case.

grin

RE: warning for women

Agreed. It is illegal to give fake addresses etc.

Most people are smart enough not to fall for these tricks i.e. the deal being too good, sending money all that stuff.

Dont know much about FBI, but the little I know is that they would probably not approve of any employee using their official e-mail address for internet dating. Employees of the FBI would be prudent, cautious and not just "distribute" the address.

What I personally abhor is the blanket dismisal of africans as money diggers. Its sad.

RE: warning for women

Too much said about Africa........sorry cant shut up. I guess a small minority give us a bad name.

I am Kenyan, in Spain pursuing graduate studies.

Some of us are genuinely looking for a partner, and would probably be the last to ask for money.

If you ask, and we respond with sad stories about our past or current experiences, its only because we are being honest about ourselves.

So, dont be so quick to dismiss based on origin, we have scumbags in every country.

RE: Intellectual???

Thanks Cherokee & Spartanhandshake

RE: Intellectual???

My 2 cents....

Most people would rather the criticism came from within than from outside. Its like someone criticizing your parents on the local dailies.

Though in principle you may agree with the criticism, the forum for the criticism especially if it is from a consistent source may make you swing in the opposite side - and become defensive.

All governments in the world have their weak points. It the degree to which they deviate from the norm that differs. Some are more publicized than others.

God's Wild Goose

Interesting response. Damn! I should have thought of arranging an enclosure before!

RE: languages...which is the hardest to learn...?

I beleive the "silent" language of love and kindness is probably the most difficult to learn.

RE: Where is the paradise on the earth?

I based my response on what Paradise (as the bible describes it) was all about -

i) A connection with God
ii) A reliance on God
iii) peaceful co-existence between all God's creatues

Off course the modern version of paradise is food, drink, beaches and parties, so my response would not be valid.

grin

God's Wild Goose

Here we go again Lord, the endless cycle of hope and expectation then deep loss and sadness.
I look up, I smile, I hope! Then I realize that it was only a game - a wild goose chase.
I feel lost! I do not know what to believe in again.
I cannot trust, I dare not hope. I mustn't tell anyone what I am planning. I mustn't think I will get! It all comes tumbling down eventually.
God, Lord, Why?
I have therefore realized that I do not know your voice anymore. I cannot answer because I am not sure.
What are you saying, what are you promising? God is that you?
What do you sound like? How do I know!
God, Lord, Why?
Lord, I am tired of chasing wild geese. I want to love and love unreservedly.
I want to trust and bet my life on it. I want to chase a goose and catch it.
And Lord...why can't I be a goose

Wrote this in 4 years ago, I am still waiting....

RE: Where is the paradise on the earth?

There is only one place on earth that "physically" resembles paradise - Africa.

Thats where man still peacefully co-exists with nature. Despite the sad stories in the international press, many Africans still "connect spiritually with God". There is hope that there will be a better tomorrow.
